Well a loss to Wisconsin likely moves them to a Q1 road game

Wisconsin bumped up a little and is now a Q1 road game.

But presumably if we beat them they'll go back to Q2.

So it will be a Q2 win or a Q1 loss

exactly...while it is important to win to stop the bleeding. Losing a Q1 game does not necessarily hurt Rutgers, the issue becomes the overall record specifically in Q3. RU has enough quality wins to make the field, its avoiding losses that may fall in Q3 or even Q2 to Michigan and Penn State.

This is why the Nebraska loss was so painfully costly to the profile. A win over Nebraska and loss to Wisconsin and no one would really bat an eye.

Interesting that after Illinois beats Minnesota by 9, Minneosota's NET gets better (241 to 236) and Illinois gets worse (27 to 32).

That's pretty wild actually this late in the season. Whoever has beaten Illinois at home just lost a Q1 win too.

Minnesota is bad but they have their best player back now (Garcia).

Battle scored 31 for Minnesota last night. 3 players scored 60 of the 69 points for the Gophers.

Howard is still out for Illinois so that is a big loss in the lineup

I know you meant Terence Shannon was still out for Illinois in concussion protocol.
I watched a lot of the Penn State / Minnesota game and last night’s game and now that Minnesota is healthy they are a lot better. Came out after halftime against Penn State down 10 and took the lead. To Penn State’s credit they took the run , stabilized things got it to Pickett and held them off. Watching Minnesota last night again , they got it to 9 multiple times but either make a stupid turnover or take a bad shot. Their transfer guard has talent but he turns it over too often. They will be much better at home than when we saw them at the RAC. They have to play like 7 games in 14 days so they will be worn out which will likely help us. But without both MAG and Caleb , they have some young talented players and a shooter who can get hot. Will be a tougher game for sure but if the remainder of our squad plays we should be okay. They turn the ball over a lot.

Yup Minny is so bad in the NET you pretty much have to beat them by 25 plus at home
Bac, was it a mistake for Willard to put in the scrubs up 30 at home against Minnesota last night, allowing the margin of victory to shrivel? I hope we're not at that point in college basketball yet, but if it matters...

I don't think it actually matters because I think the NET is almost exclusively used for measuring strength of schedule.

NET up to 35
How did we go up? a Win today would go a LONG way in helping us out

I have my work trip planned to go to the B1G Tourney in Chicago to be there at least Wed-Fri...hopefully we wont need wins in that to secure our bid and can start playing loose

A 10 point win at Penn State would be great for the metrics

Meanwhile Michigan State up to 33 with a loss is getting closer to being a Quad 1 win
