Given the decision making by coaches tonight and the inability to get the team to play tough, the whole coaching staff needs to go. Terry’s audition for next PSU coach is now over IMO.
Yep. He was gassed after that screen pass he couldn’t shake the DB. You saw it in his eyes. So maybe if he was given more carries earlier in the year he probably has the stamina to stay out there.

Biggest mystery to me was the use of Smolik -why? It accomplished nothing and just kept Grunk from getting into any rhythm.
The roster is garbage. The linebackers are putrid. Zero impact defensive lineman including 33 and zero impact skill guys except 13. This program is a joke.
Iowa is terrible but this program has no ability to close a game. Pathetic.
He didn't trust Allar, he sure isn't going to trust Grunkemeyer.

I don't either but we are fans so that is okay. Franklin also had no clue (admitted that today on national television) and he made/still makes $9 million a year.
Never in PSU history has a player so hyped been so invisible (all year).
His ratio of "celebrations" to fundamentally sound plays must be 10 to 1.
Watching this mess tonight, I'm really pleased that Franklin was fired. A change was definitely needed.

But we expected it during the dark years. This is worse.
Maybe the most disappointing Penn State team. Also I think they need a QB switch Grunk doesn’t have it. Give Smolik a shot to see if he has anything. If not bring in qualified quarterbacks in the portal this offseason. Penn State future is in real trouble right now. This reminds me of the sanctions period.
He was 15/28 for 93 yards. 6 carries for 1 yard.

Just got here. Haven’t read any prior posts. But Smith just failed his audition, starting with the “We’re going to shock the world tonight” pregame BS. We don’t need anymore false bravado, we’ve had years of it already. And nothing about the game was going to shock the world, because the world didn’t care about either of these teams. And then is in game coaching decisions were Franklinesque.
i hope there’s a mass exodus for the transfer portal, because this team is severely lacking in playmakers and guys who win one on one battles. When someone has a chance to make a play to win the game, they come up short a la the dropped pass in the end zone tonight. This has been a hallmark of Franklin teams the last several years. And Kotelnicki can shove his two (three, if you count the idiotic snap to Reynolds)-headed QB system and his “trick” plays and motion that fools nobody. Please leave. And take the $3.2 million fraud with you. He got schooled by Iowa’s OC tonight. Read that again: Iowa’s OC.
