Not wrong dippy. Singleton the far better blocker in pass-pro, better downfield receiver, better screen receiver, better bubble-pass long-handoff receiver, better outside runner and pretty much a wash between the tackles (Allen has a very bad habit of running east-west.... forever on off-tackle runs and dances in the hole on 1-3 and 2-4 hole runs. Singleton grades out far higher for the Pros - not even close.
His speech was typical of a player’s speech. The current players often want to keep an assistant…that’s how Miami kept Larry Coker and WVU kept Bill Stewart. Unfortunately it rarely works out well for the program long term.

He wasn’t ready to be the head coach and if you asked him that he probably would have told you the same if he was being honest. However, he’s learning a ton right now and maybe by the end of next weekend he won’t be that bad of an option.
That’s why I said long term…the program then fell into a pit that they still haven’t dug out of. Unfortunately, Terry Smith would not be inheriting a NC roster like Coker did.Larry Coker won a Natty.

As I said in a post weeks ago, Terry Smith is the low-risk choice - you can sign him as the new HC at a very modest amount relative to highest paid FBS Coaches, you could sign him to a middle-term contract that exposes you to no real buyout expense, he can get to work on stabilizing the 2026 Roster and recruits.... There is no downside with Terry - only upside. If he stuggles as HC - the situation has stabilized and you put your list together for best available candidates.
I think we can now safely conclude that crap offense with poor oline play, obsession with big plays, playing underperforming players was 90% JF.

Terry is growing on me as well. Love his even demeanor. Much like Cael.
Can he get a top OC and DC? He was already an important recruiter. And he will get kids to play for the school.

You can dismiss Coach Smith as next year's head coach all you like. He's given this squad an identity, and they are performing at the highest level all season.
