We lost in double overtime…how is that not on the same level?
I explained it in my post. If you’re a neutral fan, which roster and coaching staff would you take today?

I’ll wait. And I bet if you surveyed CFB fans who don’t support either team, then it would be 80%+ for Oregon.

And for the double OT logic, would you say Virginia is a better program and team than FSU?

How the f do you come out failing to execute for 3 qtrs when you had 2 weeks to prepare. Maybe the helicopter trips to high schools are interfering with the actual job of coaching.
Yes, because the other team has nothing to do with how you do. You should be able to do whatever you want regardless of who you’re playing.

Yup. Only reason why we even had a chance was Oregon started to ease up way too early and Drew had nothing to lose after throwing up on his shoes for 3 1/2 quarters. Oregon was clearly the better team. Better offensive and defensive game plans, better QB, better receivers.
Prove Oregon eased up. That‘s nonsense. There was a ton of time on the clock. You really think a coach like Lanning eases up?

Anybody would take Oregon’s roster because they have way more money. They may be the best team in the country. But losing to the best team in the country in double OT means you’re pretty close to the best team in the country.

I did say to my dad two weeks ago. I think we lose to Oregon and beat OSU in Columbus. Sadly I was right about Oregon. Hopefully I’m right about OSU.

Earlier this year I said we’d handle OSU easily. I still think that.

I’ll leave all the doomsday stuff to the sad people.

Moore is a redshirt sophomore at his second school and sat behind Gabriel last year redshirting.
Fair. First-time starter not a freshman. He was still very impressive tonight. Oregon may be better than last year’s team.

80% sounds like an exaggeration but I saw two fan polls today, one was 75% Oregon and the other was 80% Oregon.

Yeah. No easing up from that dbag Lanning. His skinny pants were getting pretty tight in the fourth quarter and OT.

I do. I played sports. They gave it their all. You don’t go negative under those circumstances. It’s just bad management.
I’ll appreciate what you said, but I humbly ask that you consider an otherwise harmless emotional (actually more numb) posting after yet another in a long line of close losses in big games not the worst conceivable sin of fandom.

Great INT Drew. The receiver wasn’t even open, and you still threw it to him…and it was a terrible throw. I stand by what I said in another post…lack of preparation and poor execution = not a winner.

I’ve defended Drew in the past, especially after repeated losses to Ohio St and Michigan when he was younger, but enough is enough. He’s not a young qb anymore.

This is not rocket science stuff. Anyone who watched this game could clearly see the Oregon was the better team. They were more physical, faster and simply bigger than the Nits. And they made plays when they needed them. They certainly deserved to win. I'm not going to find fault with our team for losing to a better team. We simply need to recruit better players and be better. Bottom line.
Except Oregon doesn’t recruit better players. They shop the portal better. It’s one of the things I’ve really come to dislike about college football.

Can you please, please converse like an adult? The ‘yo’ and ‘whatevs’ and referring to yourself in 3rd person is ridiculous. The schtick is one I assume nobody on here finds tolerable.
I knew a lot of guys like him in high school…the difference is they all grew up.

Oregon’s All B1G kicker makes that first FG and they win. We can do this all night.

Oregon was better for most of the game on both lines. Their freshman QB outplayed our senior, 3-year starter. On the road. And their skill guys on offense are all elite talents, albeit young.

They are a dynamite team. There’s no shame in not being at that level. Great teams win these games at home.

At the same time, Franklin has been here since 2014 and has resources. Why is Allar being outplayed by a first-year starter? Why doesn’t PSU have similar elite talent?

After 11 years, the program should represent better than it did tonight. Allar with 69 yards passing in the 1st half and looking lost with bad mechanics. Then the horrible pick at the end.

Exactly! Money drives talent in this age. PSU hasn’t committed to playing at that level so they’re not on it.

And Oregon isn’t the best team in the country. At least I don’t think so.

This is why we PSU fans shouldn’t take these losses so hard. It’s why we are batting like 16% against top teams. It’s not a fair fight.

What was the score at the end of regulation?

You done scrubbing Franklin's jock already? Your tongue must be quick.
You’re obsessed with Franklin’s genitalia, and man on man love. And it comes out when you’re drinking and emotional.

Work that out on your own time.

I’m not trying be difficult here, just a conversation. He is in his third year of college. He started at UCLA his freshman year and played in 9 games. I think he was benched for poor play. The redshirt year seems to have helped a lot because, as you said, he is very good. He was a very highly recruited 5 star QB.

The short answer is because the PSU AD tolerates it. I think Franklin wants to play moneyball. But Penn State has been slow to go all in.

Knowles hiring was the first time we saw them move their chips to the middle of the table. They need a better organized NIL program next.

So, it’s Franklin, Kotelnicki, Knowles, Allar, Singleton, the defense as a whole …

If those guys were all better, we might have won?

All those guys gathered together, full of awfulness, and we still had a tie score at the end of regulation. Imagine if just one of them was competent, amirite?

And if they all didn’t suck, we’d win by a million bajillion points.
Done with your tongue washing already? The game barely ended. Aren't you oxygen deprived ?

Not proud of myself for the negativity during the game thread. Bad read on the INT. But, he led a gutsy comeback when they were written off (me included).
I have mixed feelings. You should have been negative about our play for 3 qtrs. There's no reason why Northwestern should have a better offensive performance vs Oregon than PSU did. The good news is that we got punched in the mouth and responded. Allar was a warrior in the 4th qtr until he wasn't.

I hope this loss made us tougher but I'm not at all happy with our offensive game plan. Designed plays are slow and easy to defend. Allar is a lot better when we play fast. Everything is so slow when he's trying to run the designed plays. Bottom line is I don't think the staff helps him.

30 pts - miss
Win TOs - miss

I hear you. First time starter in Oregon’s offense. This also shows how important overall roster talent is.

His supporting cast at Oregon is likely head and shoulders better than at UCLA. That also helps him play better.
