Who doesn't stink on this team? Nwosu and Barker are arguably our best players. Maybe Kaytron.Grunk isn't "green". He just stinks.

It was O$U.I thought for sure it was targeting. Was there any good explanation on why it wasn't?
Everyone has mailed it in. That secondary performance was horrible. We supposedly had talent in our secondary but you would never know it. Yes OSU has two top 5-10 WRs but you still gotta be better than that. That was bottom feeder B10 level which we clearly are. I also blame Knowles for confusing everyone on defense and not adapting.Who doesn't stink on this team? Nwosu and Barker are arguably our best players. Maybe Kaytron.
I remember some very average secondaries under Paterno but they played zone and kept things in front of them. It was called bend but don't break.Everyone has mailed it in. Are there any good P4 matchups for PSU at this point?Indiana leads the country in scoring, averaging a margin of victory of over 35 points per game. Not a good matchup for Penn State next week.
Those defenses were so frustrating to watch but they were effective. The plan for today was supposed to be BBDB but our secondary absolutely blew it.I remember some very average secondaries under Paterno but they played zone and kept things in front of them. It was called bend but don't break.
This year the LBs & DBs look like they don't understand their assignments.
We're so bad that it eliminates us next year as well.

I know, right? I like how he's clinging to "top ranked recruiting class" as if the overwhelming evidence that they're not actually any good at all doesn't count.cries of petulant children. yawn
Indiana likes to run up the score. If you watch their games, they won't let up in the fourth when they are blowing someone away. I think Cignetti feels that he needs to keep scoring for the rankings.Watching the O$U and Indiana games today I have come to a couple of conclusions. Indiana is a really well coached team with decent players. O$U has the best talent in the country, probably all 4* and 5* starters, but does not have quite the same level of coaching.

Two season tickets to the James Franklin **** Show, wherever that may be.Final: 38-14, tOSU

wut do I win?
I've watched 3 Indiana games this year and have to agree with you.........they love to run up the score even when the game is long decidedIndiana likes to run up the score. If you watch their games, they won't let up in the fourth when they are blowing someone away. I think Cignetti feels that he needs to keep scoring for the rankings.
E.G. He won't take a knee if he is destroying someone and is up 42-6 with a minute left in the fourth. He will throw a deep ball and keep going for the endzone until the clock strikes zero. This has rubbed some teams the wrong way, but it is what it is. That's not to say Indiana is not legit. But they show no mercy to opponents and Cignetti has got a reputation for rubbing it in when he has no need to.
IF PSU finds itself down like they were today 38-14 with a minute left, don't expect any knees to drop. Cignetti will tack another score if he can, just to rub it in. Think Indiana has a Napolean complex. Indiana has been so irrelevant for so long, now that they are legit good, they feel like they need to convince themselves further that they are legit by kicking someone even when they are down.
Urban Meyer followed by Nick Saban, both deemed unworthy to be HC at PSU and finally Pat Narduzzi just to complete the circle of total ineptitude.Great. Then we can fire our next coach before we hire him.
So who are we getting to replace the guy we just fired, who has yet to replace the other guy we just fired?
Well this year PSU had three high level OOC opponents....I guess that is why Allar needed to play 55 minutes....we were only up by 30 points! Seriously...I cannot remember ANY PSU backup QB getting quality in game playing time..I m in no way defending his poor play thus far in his short career but Grunkenmeyer was a consensus 4 star recruit with major offers all over the country. Penn St does not develop QB s....it s jarring when you watch other games on Saturdays and see less heralded QBs play better all the time.
Great. Then we can fire our next coach before we hire him.

I don't know but whoever it is, he's on the hot seat already so we'd better start looking for his successor.Great. Then we can fire our next coach before we hire him.

I agree and it's why I think he'll be yet another coach being fired with big dollars owed to him in about two years.Indiana likes to run up the score. If you watch their games, they won't let up in the fourth when they are blowing someone away. I think Cignetti feels that he needs to keep scoring for the rankings.

Well, the Boss and Billy Martin had their day. Maybe this is all a plan for Kraft to hire Franklin for an encore when the dust settlesThat would be cool, we hire a new coach then during the press conference, Kraft and the new coach get into and Kraft fires him on the spot.
I don’t know why anyone would criticize Cignetti’s formula for sustained winning.Indiana likes to run up the score. If you watch their games, they won't let up in the fourth when they are blowing someone away. I think Cignetti feels that he needs to keep scoring for the rankings.

I said he took liberties. Don't put ******* words in my mouth, *******. So fine, I'll ******* say it -- any player that goes for the head like Downs did is a dirty piece of ****. There, you happy now? Get bent. It's honestly ridiculous that anyone is trying to claim he's a dirty player. You clearly don't watch him often.
You and others are mad that targeting was overturned and are unfairly attacking the player instead of the inability of those to enforce the rules.
Headshots will always exist in football. They game is too fast to eliminate them completely. The NFL handles it far better.
I dont blame him. Indiana has been blown out of a lot of games over the years. Theyre just returning the favor.Indiana likes to run up the score. I don’t think it has anything to do with them being Indiana. That’s just his coaching personality and part of why his teams win. He has no mercy and wants to stomp on the opponent no matter what the score is or how much time is left. I love that attitude and wish we had it.Indiana likes to run up the score. Ok…after an average of 20 season per coach. What current team has coach with 20 years tenure now?and 2 of the last 3 were fired mid-season.
When I was in school which was a long time ago. My coaches always told me if you don’t like being scored on do something about it. No matter what the score was.I don’t think it has anything to do with them being Indiana. That’s just his coaching personality and part of why his teams win. Unequivocally targeting. If you were going to define targeting with an example, this would be it.
Defender saw the ball was past him. The defender “wound up” and launched himself toward the head area, regardless.
If someone with authority thinks this isn’t targeting, we may as well just eliminate the rule and let all the cool kids try to give other kids permanent brain damage for fun.
