Now what do I do? Last night‘s dogsh|t football is better than the lebron-ba, and I only watch the NHL during the playoffs. ”College” basketball (😞) offers me nothing. Baseball (not here yet) doesn’t do it for me until the World Series. And Liverpool sucks a$$.

I guess it’s the Winter Olympics for the next two weeks (at least a few sports) and PSU wrestling for another month. That’s it.

😞

English and Scottish Premier league soccer and the FA cup are all solid options.

I don’t think they want Billy speaking his mind in English. If you’re a real fan of his you know where he stands as he doesn’t hide it. Last night was just fine and you’re never going to get people to agree on a single performer. If your demographic is already watching the NFL isn’t trying to capture your eyes as this is a marketing event for them, but somehow people cannot figure this out. This snowflake fake outrage over a performance annually is becoming a joke.
You are absolutely right. Marketing could care less about the loyal customers. They are always trying to bring new customers into the fold by making them the best offers. And the NFL is a master at this. The Sunday Ticket is a perfect example. The promotions are never offered to longterm loyal customers but only to new customers.

It's also why they try to go the pop route in most years as they want the younger eyes on the set in addition to the global eyes, yet every year now we have people pouting about it.

Pretty certain the demographic is gamblers at this point. The ad featuring the model who jetted off to somewhere after having a bet payoff kind of tells you what they are after. They already have nearly 50% of males between 20 and 50 involved in some sort of wagering. Now they need to capture the women as well as customers.

BTW, the numbers are in:

Bad Bunny. 142 million

Puppies. 11 million

Kid and whomever. 4 million.

We will all survive.

.....because someone (whom I won't mention here, but is a powerful person), decided to spout off on it and politicize it, and that got his personal Politburo and sycophants to jump in on it and make something political.....that wasn't political to begin with.....

Because this is where we are ....Nos estamos deteriorando como sociedad...

Well, I also understand the loyal NFL fan's dismay. A simple solution would be to appease the loyal fans by promoting an occasional appealing halftime show. Corporate American will, occasionally, offer a "thank you for being a loyal customer" promotion.

You are generalizing.......Not everyone watched the alternative halftime show for the reason you give. My wife wanted to watch it because she enjoys country music. Although, we turned it off when Kid Rock came on.

Well, we learned a valuable lesson last night regarding the exciting Power-Spread offense verses the boring Pro-Set offense. A team without an established running game the opposing defense can and will shutdown your passing game. Seattle ran a hybrid Pro-Set offense with Darnold under center and established a running game which was the difference in the game.

I’ve rarely watched the halftime shows, even for acts that I enjoy. They shift from song to song faster than I can keep up. I think the last act that I watched in its entirety was Prince or Lady Gaga. I’m that old and out of touch that I don’t know who some of the acts are. Bad Bunny was one of those.

Also, by the time halftime rolls around, I’m tired of all of the yapping and I want to zone out on something else. Sometimes, like last night, I fail to return for the second half.

I wasn’t joking when I said that I missed the Nickelodeon broadcast.

We still have to hire a coach. That's something to look forward too.

Actually the kid and whomever was 35 million all platforms. Watched the start of bunny then changed it to rock then changed it to Olympics.

so since I didn’t like either team, I watched the playoff of the Phoenix open ( which the last hour was way more exciting then the Super Bowl) and then ate dinner. Fast forwarded the entire first half except to see the field goals and watched all commercials. It was awesome. Disappointed in the commercials though. Like the dunkin one think it was the best,

Really could have done without homos dry humping as part of the halftime show. Hard to explain to young kids! NFL needs to do better.
I did not watch the halftime show. But I find it very difficult to believe the FCC would have allowed a gay scene to be on full display during the halftime show. However, if this is true then I have to believe that the 5 million viewers who switched to TBN this year will more than triple next year.

I'm old and white. Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga and Ricky were awesome. My kids loved the show. That's what it is, a show, a glamorous skit under 15 minutes, sampling various songs. An actual wedding right there at the Super Bowl. Brilliant! A tour through Puerto Rico's culture which btw is part of the United States. Awesome, love the peek into a distinct American culture. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

People need to chill and put down their arrows. It's time to accept change (1/3 of the country now listens to Spanish-speaking music). It's also time to appreciate new cultural modes and perspectives different than their own family history. If not, you are missing out on the cultures of the United States. As a 3rd generation immigrant, I don't hate you, I feel sorry for you for being bitter over music and symbolism - two uniquely powerful American attributes.

This is 100% spot on. And calling the NFL masterful at this might be an understatement.

Bad Bunny fans can’t also be loyal NFL fans?

A simpler solution is to recognize that it’s a diverse country the NFL is trying to market to, that they’re probably going to pick someone I don’t care to hear, and to go do something else for that half hour.

Your post is a generalization with a narrow perspective. First, I am a musician. I perform practically all genres in my 4 bands...from jazz to classical to rock to reggae etc. etc. So please don't lecture me about accepting change and new cultures. I'm not a fan of Kid Rock's music, but my wife loves country music, so we watched the alternative halftime for that reason and that reason only. In fact, when it comes to entertainment, we make our choices based solely on what we enjoy. Politics does not enter into it.

The NFL is constantly looking to expand it's market - it has focussed on Europe, Central/Latin America and South America. Ultimately, it will seek to gain entry into parts of Africa and Asia - based on the population bases there and the push to expand.

If you guys don't like a Spanish speaking American singing and dancing during the halftime of the Super Bowl, you are going to absolutely lose your sh*t when you hear Soukous, K Pop and Bollywood music and dancing.

The end is nigh, people, just get used to it. 🤣

The link offers an analysis of viewers for last nights halftime. Pretty interesting. And the Kid was nowhere near 35 million.

I don’t know how old you are but I use to watch him catch td passes in the middle of the field and get completely lit up. Never drop the ball, never talk schit. Dudes a f ing gladiator. And I have a soft spot for cincy (1 did 2 interns at GE)
What does how he played have to do with his announcing ability? Normally don’t have a problem with Collingsworth but I thought he was insufferable last night.

Agree. The NFL contracts with Jay-Z's Rocnation for the entertainment at the Superbowl halftime show.
