This is horse dump. Salem, GW and Amherst has played by far the hardest schedule in the Region and Pulaski and Byrd has more points??? No disrespect to Charlottesville but they haven't played the schedule any of those teams have either.
The official points are actually out earlier this year. The points will normalize as the season goes on. It looks like a close race this year.
Too early for these ratings to matter. If your team has played soft opponents whom haven't won any games, no bonus points are added. Like others have noted, as the season roles onward, the true picture will arise.
I am still laughing at 4A. Deep Creek is rated as #1 at 4-0, but three of their four wins are against winless teams! The other one is 2-2.
Is norcom going to be undefeated? That would be the story of the year! Would actually help Lafayette at this point if they did
It will play out near the end of the season. Danville and Amherst points should change at the end because you get points for every team you played wins. If Charlottesville played a weak schedule those teams may not win anymore or only a few and then it will change
Norcom only had one tough team left- LT, who after struggling with one win Norview may not be that insurmountable. At 5-0 they already have more wins than any of our previous OOD teams have had in a very longtime. Should help at the end.
Byrd will find it's proper place in the standings with the LB and Staunton River games.
It's not where you line up it's where you wind up.
If your team get in, they just need to win. Win and advance is the bottom line
