I'm sure they did just didn't know what the formal process was if there was one. We are very much in uncharted territory here.
The IHSA needs to act very quickly on this. And by quickly I mean the end of the night or Tomorrow morning

while easy to say in this instance Fenwick should win....you open Pandoras box. sad to say but there really is no recourse
That there's no precedent for dealing with this kind of thing doesn't mean that the IHSA can't create a precedent now. I don't think that it would open Pandora's box. It would just state a precedent saying that for all games, if time has expired and there's an intentional grounding call, and that call wrongly awards the other team with an additional play such that that additional play changes the outcome of the game, then that additional play shouldn't be counted and the result that would have held otherwise DOES in fact hold. So Fenwick wins and plays next week.
Is there a course of action Fenwick can take? I mean the play was ruled wrong which directly effected the outcome. Don't know if anyone from the IHSA is on the board here but would be curious if something like that is possible .
It should have happened with OK State too.

I'm sure there is an appeal process but it would have to be done very quickly.
The IHSA has no problem reviewing other aspects of completed games (i.e. Doling out suspensions to players that were not suspended during the actual game) but that is a far cry from reversing the results of a game. Apparently they are willing to do it if a player is ruled ineligible to play - basketball example provided by a poster. So it is theoretically possible....
YMCA adult basketball league? Goodness gracious really?
Sounds like that Soviet/USA basketball game back around 1970
easy cop out for them. not surprised.IHSA has admitted they were wrong, they "feel terrible" but by-laws does not allow them to overturn an officials call. So Fenwick is done. Sickening lack of responsibility.

They clearly need to be amendedThey are following their stated by laws.
Are they supposed to break their by laws? What's the point of having them then?
