Houston and Marshall game. Houston WR is hauling *** out the back of the endzone and runs into one of those wagon carts and Prothro's his leg against it. Just lost my Zaxby's. I'm pretty sure someone will lose their job tomorrow for leaving those carts right behind the endzone. Damn.

I gritted my teeth and said "<17>, why the hell did i watch that. I hate seeing that happen especially by something this stupid. There should be at least 30 clear feet behind every endzone and if not then the only thing that should be there is a fence that has padding all over it.

I hope they got an arteriogram on him quickly. Vessels can be grafted if caught in time. Nerves are pretty resilient, but he'll be lucky if he his able to have full muscle function in his feet, specifically being able to stand up on his toes. Bones can be fixed.

Marshall University will be paying his bills for placing those carts there.

Somebody was watching that and crapped themselves knowing it was going to be their last day on the job.

You think Marshall will pony up and pay for this guys schooling? Looks like one of the top recievers on their team. For a walk on, that usually means you are in line for a sweet scholarship the next few years. How in the hell would the Marshall Athletic Department let them put metal carts right behind the end zone. Thats just poor judgement on their part.

Then you got the West Virginia redneck yelling "walk it off" at the end of the clip. Poor guy I hope he wins the lottery.

negligence.

i can't see the video (thanks, work internet filter), but it certainly sounds like negligence, and maybe even premises liability, although i don't know how/if that works when dealing with athletes playing sports.

from the espn story:

Edwards, running deep for a pass from Blake Joseph, ran out of the back of the end zone into a band equipment cart parked just beyond the out-of-bounds line. The impact, captured by ESPN's cameras, caused a compound fracture of Edwards' right leg according to the Houston Chronicle.
as if being the equipment manager for the marshall band weren't bad enough for self esteem...
