and this is all so stupid. Betting over recruiting? I wouldn't bet a nickel on a recruit who told me to my face where he was signing. Especially on info from boards or "insiders". Then you have the whole other issue, of whether they will ever be worth a ****. Seems to me the majority of our best players the last decade or so were all 2/3 stars. Willis, Dexter, Wallace, etc. Which is exactly why I quit following recruiting. I could probably name four or five of our recruits right now, and that's only because there's a Ward/Liggins/Quay thread every four times a day. However, I do what the NBA haters seemingly can not, I just don't read them.

I can't wait for February something or other.

I was wondering how our athletic department and / or Mullen could comment on Quay. I thought coaches were nto allowed to mention specific recruits until they signed their LOI's. To my knowledge, Quay only enrolled in school and still has to wait until NSD to officially sign. Something I'm missing?

it's the same as a signed NLOI. Since he graduated early, he had that luxury.

For anyone that was not eligible to enroll before NSD, this is true, Mullen cannot comment on them until they have signed.

Nafoom looks like. Why don't they just pay DS to fix that 1994 looking website?

You can include Alonzo Lawrence in that. Congrats on getting him in. If Mullen can keep him out of trouble and in school, I think he'll be a beast. Y'all just have to hope he doesn't flop in college like Powe (relatively speaking).

I don't imagine you'll ever see anything like this from Peachbowl, hell he's blaming his bad information on Liggins (said it was between MSU and LSU last week I believe) on him "going soft" on MSU instead of just admitting he was wrong.

Still waiting on anyone here to admit that I've been right more than wrong. Singleton, Brassell, Johnson, Whitehead (said he wouldn't be at State, though I didn't see him winding up at AU), Ward, Patterson, Sanders, Thompson, Bennett/Martin, Morris, and soon to be Liggins. Also of interest is that, should I do the same as the original post in this thread, I get nothing but deflecting trolling efforts from your best GenesPagers. The same happens when I present any kind of evidence that Ole Miss may actually be in the lead for a recruit OM/MSU are both recruiting, such as Liggins. Happened yesterday in the thread about Liggins, although he has been seen (not by me, as it would be tough to do from Jackson) at no less than 3 recent OM basketball games wearing Ole Miss apparel.

And so I can go ahead and get this out of the way for patdog/Goat/Coach/Ronny/Mutt/etc: I've seen [insert MSU recruit/signee here] play in person, and he's overrated. I don't care what college coaches and recruiting websites say, he's garbage. I don't really care what they did at [insert All-Star game], I'll take [insert Ole Miss recruit/signee at the same position] over them every single time.

For OP4: I think I'm at 5 since 2004, with one being used almost exclusively here, and I don't plan on making any more, although I'm only allowed 1 post per day with this account. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Flame away.

ETA - One last question: Why is it that so many MSU people subscribe to the Spirit if the information there by Yancy is so bad? Yes he's a dumbass, yes I don't care for him, and yes he's wrong at times, but he's 10x better than Rosebowl as far as consistently being right year in and year out on MS recruits. In fact this year is about as bad of a year as he has ever had that I can remember and as good of a year as Rosebowl has ever had.

A guy that most of our resident UM homers said WOULD NOT EVEN QUALIFY AT ALL, much less play for MSU, has in fact, ENROLLED EARLY. Let that sink in and remember that the next time rebelbruiser, olemissbydamn, LionO, independencewhatthefuckever, OP4, etc. post something here about recrootin.<div>
</div><div>Enrolling early is usually reserved for the Tebows of the world. These damn bears couldn't possibly be any more sick to their stomach than right now.</div>

you probably just need to take a little break until after signing day. Recruiting can be fun to follow and all but you are just taking it to another level. I am happy that you are right more often then you are wrong. You obviously spend a lot of time "researching" and tracking down recruits at concession stands and such, so its good you are seeing the fruits from your labor.

Based on my user name I feel obligated to respond to the last part of your post.

As far as Yancy goes, all I know about him is what I read on here and Nafoom and he sounds like a complete asshat. How anyone can defend a guy that admits he is giving out false information to his readers to throw off M$U or that thinks Dan Mullen wakes up every morning to read his tidbits is beyond me. Who cares if he is "right" sometimes (not even sure that is true), seems to me he crosses a lot of lines that just make him look idiotic and beyond fanatical. Now get back to the Spirit and tell them how you have been right more often then you have been wrong, they may actually give a ****.

And a few others throw around bets that they crawfish on, Why don't you folks turn nafoom into a pay site and put the others out of business? I mean you, independencebowlmainstay, and others have solid sources, contacts, and inside information that you are right about 98 percent of the time right? Some of you guys hang around high school practices, talk to other folks at high school games about players....practically privately stalk them it seems, and you waste your "talents" on free boards? <div>
</div><div>Independencebowlmainstay needs the income to pay for his failed gambling bets it would seem. I mean... it appears he cannot afford to take on everyone he boasted about being able to. </div><div>
</div><div>I mean, on this board people like info if people have it, but you guys from Nafoom try to act like you are some kind of insider. Like you are connected and "know people" when it comes to recruiting and you matter as well as should be heard. Oh wait a min... that's pretty much most any UM fan in everyday life isn't it? </div><div>
</div><div>We MSU fans are just sorry that your 4th major sport, that is 2nd behind football itself, appears to be on the cusp of leaving you disappointed just like the other sports. And take it from independencebowlmainstay's and your sources that told you about Quay when they say I am truly sorry for your grief and would give you a big ole "hang in there sport" if you were around. </div>

is because Yancy HAD an inside source and you went with what he said, you are full of ****, just like others that claim to have all the inside scoop on these recruits.<div>
</div><div>Now that Yancy's not getting inside information I look for him to be wrong more often than Rosebowl and all of you bear mother17ers with supposed inside recruiting info will disappear.</div><div>
</div><div>Apparently without his contact Yancy = Rosebowl with a drug problem.</div>

Nicely done. A lot of these NAFOOMer's that have "sources" are basically going off of Yancy.

What they don't mention or conveniently forget is a lot of times, MSU people report that those very same players were leaning to Ole Miss before they mentioned it.
