Canada is essentially the Peyton Manning of hockey and get declared the best by default. We showed there isn't that much difference between US skill and Canada skill.

I think the US has to start to develop better forwards that can score than the ones that we have now. If we do that, we will probably be the best in the world in hockey as well. It seems like we have always developed pretty good defensemen and goalies, but we always have trouble scoring.

...yet we still took them to overtime. As it is, we're not going to get too upset about it. If America won, Canadians everywhere would be on suicide watch.

Well, and I think it's safe to say that in America, our best athletes grow up playing 3 or 4 other sports ahead of hockey, at least. Canada's best athletes grow up playing hockey.

If Americans made hockey our favorite sport at all ages, we'd be winning gold medal games 9-0.

So Canada can credit their gold medal to us not giving enough of a **** about hockey. Same goes for the World Cup. Whoever wins that is only winning it because America doesn't want to win it that much. We send our JV teams effectively in hockey and soccer and still have a chance to compete with the varsity from every other country.

You are an idiot. They won the gold medal right? How does that make them best by default. Even if theywere declared by default before the Olympics, they just won the Olympics so that declaration is pretty accurate. And if you are trying to say that Peyton Manning is not top twobest QBs in football, if not #1, then you are even more of an idiot for that.

imagine if guys like Lebron James, Julius Peppers, etc, etc, etc, began playing soccer or hockey at 5 years old instead of basketball/football, it wouldn't even be a competition. All of our juicy, freakishly athletic monsters play American sports not international sports.
