Apparently Oher WAS pretty good his first (2003) junior season at Briarcrest--1st team All-State and already had offers from LSU, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and "of course" (Oher's words) the Rebels. That fall, by the way, Oher was living with as many as 5 families (including the Tuohys), but most nights he stayed with a teammate. He wasn't "taken in" by the Tuohys until "after a track meet", which would have been in the Spring after Yancy's article below and after Lemming called Oher the next great left tackle.
