Who in the hell still wants to argue about Covid on the internet at this point? I'm sure we'll just play UNC, but you've all said the same thing 1000 times by now and at no point did any of you stop and say 'You're right and you've changed my mind." to someone else. Ya'll worse than a group of teenage girls.

Can't see UK running away with any game against a P5 opponent or solid mid major. Too inconsistent at the moment.
This is where I'm at. UK v UNC would probably be a one possession game inside of two minutes. Neither team is especially good right now.

Protecting the weak, caring about your fellow man, doing the right thing even if it inconveniences you. Those are fundamental Christian principles. Wearing a mask to protect others from the spread of a deadly disease is very much something our Lord and Savior would expect from us. I do it gladly and without complaint.

How many people worship at your Branch Covidian sect?

this isn't about just the players... them passing it on to an unvax, that gets sick and dies..
Lol. Thank you for your concern of the unvaxxed.😂 But many of us have antibodies and an immune system that’s better than your jab. It gives us a 99% chance of surviving covid and 100%. chance of not suffering adverse reactions to a bogus vaccine. People have enough info to not want the jab at this point.

Somehow it's still the unvaccinated's fault.
Imagine that! In late July the CDC made a published report that they were no longer add in vaccinated deaths into their statistics. They had some lame excuse I did indeed see the published report. And in other news. The aristocrats are dreaming of a 93% reduction in humanity. That Is a fact

They lost to Purdue and by 17 to Tennessee. They did beat Michigan.
It will be a close game. If we don’t do the collapse thing in the second half we should win.

Yeah it’s an absolutely crock of ****. I’ll be sure to tell that to my dad who passed away last year of covid before the vaccine came out. And my mom who is still experiencing symptoms.

That’s not an answer to my question but okay.

vaccinated people can still contract another form of covid. If you get the flu vaccine you can still get the flu the next year. I was vaccinated in April 2021 and I contracted covid in Aug 2021 and as a result of vaccination I experienced low level symptoms and was not hospitalized. As someone who contracted covid I could still pass it on to those who were unvaccinated. Testing people after they’ve been vaccinated absolutely makes sense.

and I’m not a lay person either. Im a project manager for clinical trials at the 3rd largest Pharma company in the world. I work specifically on trials involving vaccinations in developing nations (not covid). Epidemiology is a huge part of my job. I don’t ever believe in forcing people to make decisions about their healthcare (goes against the very principles of good clinical practice) but You can think it’s a crock of **** but I assure you it’s very very real.

No one is saying the virus is a crock of ****, but our response to it absolutely is. The only solution according to you is to just lock down forever…

It wasn’t vaccine development that was “rushed”. The general principle of mRNA vaccines and the mechanism of action has been clearly understood for many years. It’s the regulatory process that was rushed (rightfully so) which expedited delivery of the vaccine.

when large groups of people (esp those immunocompromised) are not vaccinated, the viral load can increase in their bodies allowing the virus to mutate. That’s why you see delta omricon etc. this will go on until we reach herd immunity. Think of the vaccine like a ring placed around a house in a neighborhood during a fire. Eventually if enough houses have a ring around them, the fire has no where to spread and naturally dies off. Now here lies the rub, unless people in other countries have the same rates and access to vaccines as we do in the United States, it all doesn’t matter since they can have the virus mutate over there as well…unless we isolate ourselves.

Mrna was being studied. But not for this particular virus. That’s why omicron is an epidemic of the vaccinated. The virus changed the parts of the protein spike the vaccine was developed to teach your body to target.

a vaccine that does nothing to prevent infection after a few months. Can have far worse consequences.

they’re mandating it for children and the cdc’s own data is that kids under 18 have ZERO risk for death from covid. Unless they have cancer, etc…

Like sars-cov-1, previous infection of sars-cov-2 will give lifetime protection to it. Maybe not lasting immunity but subsequent infections will be nothing more than cold symptoms.

Immunocompromised people would benefit from the vaccine. We’ve nearly destroyed our economy. Almost there. Inflation will hit all time highs next summer and interest rates are about to get raised

With UK saying they are going to Vegas "regardless", there must be something already worked out... at least unofficially. Maybe CBS is waiting until they can work out the 2nd game before announcing anything official.

Right on cue this thread becoming about politics.
For those that cant think for themselves and have forfeited their right to analytical thought, it is probably political.
I personally believe it is more about the different views we have concerning responsibility toward our fellowman. I support the vaccine.

It’s sad to see what this fanbase has become. Complete jerks when we aren’t the outright #1 team. Sigh
well, we haven't been that in a long time.

it's like being in relationship and the other one isn't giving you any, you get built up and ansy and angry sometimes.

well that is what UK basketball has become. a relationship partner that isn't satisfying our needs.

Wasting your time man. It's political to people now so they turn their brains off.
lol yep. And I was actually going to Vegas for the game so my plans are the first affected.

at this point I honestly wish it was actually political. Like maybe one side paid me to make up results or say one thing or another, maybe then I wouldn’t be driving a RAV4.

You really want us to just be given a W without earning it on the court? Personally, I don’t!
It’s not about wanting a free win. I certainly don’t want that. It’s about wanting a fair playing field and wanting a fair enforcement of the existing rules. I’m not sure why it’s so different between football and basketball either.

Cats play Iona on Saturday and lose. Cal leaves for the NBA after the season. UK hires Rick. Rick wins the title with Cal's players in 2023.

This is the one and only scenario I can think of where I would stop being a UK basketball fan. Rick made his choice when he went to Louisville. Ain't no coming back from that. LOL

Shame on you for mocking people who care enough about their fellow Americans to do what is needed to save lives. I was raised Christian, and I will continue to do what is necessary to protect those around me, no matter how much you try to insult my Christian values.
There it is, the reason people get vaccinated. So they can belittle others for not following their example and to feel morally superior.

I am a Christian as well, and I don’t appreciate you using our religion to grandstand over people. That’s not what Jesus would’ve done or wanted.
