And now he gets to take a nap before starting what is almost like Game 2 of a doubleheader.Oh and Ohtani went 4 for 4 with 5 walks, reaches all 9 at bats…
unbelievable
Couldn't stay awake any longer, went to bed at 1am, paying for it todayI know 99.9% of you are asleep but holy ****
Freddie comes up big in the 18th

I like John Schneider as a manager, but that was just one of a host of mistakes he made last night. Lost Springer to an injury, which he obviously cannot control. But then he pulls Bichette, which seemed overly cautious, pulls Barger for a pinch runner, then later pulls Kirk for a pinch runner. Next thing you know, he's sending nearly an entire lineup of bench players up to bat. I mean, hats off to the Dodger pen for keeping the game tied, but it helps when half the guys you are facing are AAAA players.Huge mistake to pitch to him at all after the first homer. He's so locked in its ridiculous. That game was there for the taking, but I think the Jays are screwed now. Oh who am I kidding? They were screwed from the outset.
Good point. I went to bed after the top of the 11th!I like John Schneider as a manager, but that was just one of a host of mistakes he made last night. Yeah didn't agree with pulling Kirk for pinch runner thereI like John Schneider as a manager, but that was just one of a host of mistakes he made last night. He is trying to win the game with faster pinch runners.you can’t assume the game is going to go 18 innings.I like John Schneider as a manager, but that was just one of a host of mistakes he made last night. Of course not, but pulling Barger out was just plain dumb. Barger's not slow, and Straw can't hit to save his life. And while Kirk is painfully slow, the backup catcher who ran for him isn't much faster. Schneider left himself with a decimated lineup. He is trying to win the game with faster pinch runners.you can’t assume the game is going to go 18 innings.
Kirk was still at first base, I'm not pulling him thereHe is trying to win the game with faster pinch runners.you can’t assume the game is going to go 18 innings.
Yes, and the really stupid move was using Straw to pinch run for Barger, who's a reasonably fast runner himself. If Schneider doesn't make that move, he has Straw available to pinch-run for Kirk or for Ty France, later in the game. But lifting Kirk to pinch-run your 35-year-old backup catcher just isn't worth it.Kirk was still at first base, I'm not pulling him there
Maybe. But it didn’t affect Toronto, who’s used to EST and not PST like Ohtani and the Dodgers are. It looked like a typical feast or famine performance from the Dodgers that we see every year because they rely on the long ball. Like you said, Ohtani pitched well enough to win the game, but when you get 1 run of support, you’re not gonna win many of those games.Well now it’s a series again. Ohtani pitched pretty well, but playing a 7-hour game the night before probably threw him off just a bit.
Yep 7 games and 2 extra innings including an 18 innings game. Was pulling hard for the Blue Jays, but have to give the Dodgers their props. They made the big plays/pitches/ABs when they needed them most.
Gotta say, in an era where sporting events often leave me wondering how I could have possibly wasted my time watching them, this was one helluva World Series. Probably the most exciting of my lifetime.
