I just remember hearing regional in year 1, hosting in year 2, dominating in year 3, etc... There has been a ton of backtracking now that it appears it is going to take a little longer than the 3 years it took at UK. Everyrebuilding job is different and I will agree that the juniors Polk left behind aren't very impressive and the fact that you have so many seniors really tells the story on the caliber players Polk was brining in towards the end. I think the class Cohen is bringing in this year will be the one to build the foundation on, not the current freshman class (sorry Todd, that's just myopinion).
were hoping that the current players would show a little more gumption instead of being a bunch of pussies. But they are what they are. What's most disappointing to me about them in general is I don't think they want to win quite badly enough. I'm not saying that they're not trying, or that they're tanking or anything like that. But their best just isn't good enough. I think the people that were saying that were hoping that Cohen could fire them up and rally them to that level, but instead they've been very resistant. For the record, and you can get Ronny to look it up, I was saying that Cohen's first year would be his establishment year, and this year would be a rebuilding year. I know you weren't calling me out, I'm just pointing out what I said, and I will admit that I thought that this year would be better as I predicted 30 wins.
I actually agree with your opinion if for no other reason than we're bringing in so many position players next year. Eventually they will be the ones in the field. This first class was mainly to build a foundation as far as the pitching staff goes, as far as the freshmen that were brought in are concerned- I'm not referring to the JUCO guys.
But when you put the two classes together, then you have hopefully a good foundation to build on. Because what you have to build with in the SEC is freshmen that can get into your program for 2-3 years and develop, not JUCO guys.
