I still have a primo room reserved in Omaha adjacent to the stadium.

As luck would have it, I have a couple of close friends that are Bears.

So do I:

1. Offer it up at a premium.

2. Be a nice guy and let them have it.

3. Cancel it, email them a copy of the cancellation, tell them to <17> off and enjoy lovely Council Bluffs.

4. Other?

Nothing worse than a sore loser. Give it to them at cost. Watch, they probably have rooms in Atlanta for December.

Don't make them stay in Council Bluffs. That is an awful town. Give it to your friends at cost. Take it easy on the good Rebs. They are gonna need lots of advice. It's been awhile since they've been.

Yep

When you refuse to hook up good friends on stuff like that because they are Ole Miss fans is when you take sports entirely too serious

If they are the gracious winner type, then help them out. If not, cancel the room and don't tell them about California Taco.

Some of y'all must not be able to talk sports with your non-State friends. That would be miserable. My State friends and I give each other hell every time something happens, good or bad. It's what makes the rivalry fun.

Yeah based on your posting history here, you really come across as someone who would be a blast to discuss State-Ole Miss sports with in a good-natured way. I bet those discussions are some real hootenannies.

You are right. It's pretty miserable trying to talk sports with some UM fans. If it weren't for UM fans, I wouldn't have any issue with UM.

Do what you think is right and ignore all this rivalry crap that I, and so many others spew forth.

I'll tell you what I tell my UM friends. Damn you, damn you all to hell. Oh, and by the way, congratulations. I still hope you go 0-2.

If secretly cancelling it and not telling anyone gives you pleasure, your

priorities are pretty messed up. Spite is a harsh *****, and not good for you. If you call people friends and want to screw them over that's just....

I'm not sure those words mean what you think they mean. There are some UM fans I know that I would rather the room just be open to the general fan population than hook them up, but if you actually have friends (really whether they are close or not) going to Omaha, you at least offer it to them before you cancel.

It's miserable talking sports to some State and Ole Miss fans. Those people are generally more "simple-minded" and aren't people I generally consider friends, because if they can't be rational about that, I can't expect them to be rational about normal things. If you can't talk **** and laugh with your friends about a rivalry, you or your friends take sports too seriously, or you are simple.

Most of my friends are Alabama fans because of where I live. We hassle each other all the time about sports, football in particular, but we would also do darn near anything for each other.

Give them the reservation at your cost. There's no logical reason not to.

Neither... Tell them to stay at Days Inn in west Omaha it's only about a 10 minute drive to stadium. Get to game early, drink at Hilton Bar until right before the game since you can't buy beer inside. Repeat as necessary... This was our schedule and we had a damn blast... Rather inexpensive trip as well.
