It's simple to explain the game. It was obvious right from the get-go that, for some inexplicable reason, we did not want the game nearly as badly as they did. The evidence? Missed tackles. A bucketload of them. I quit counting how many, especially in the first half, but it continued throughout the game. When you see that, it's a clear tip-off that your team is, if not flat, at least not heavily invested in the game. They wanted it more than we did. I know, it's hard to figure out, what with all that we had at stake, but we just simply didn't have the urgency they had.

Amazing how similar this excuse sounds to what Ole Miss was saying after the '09 game. Situations just reversed now. Chances are we'll wind up in the Cotton Bowl just like they did that year too.
I can only hope that's where the similarities end because OM went on into the wilderness for a couple of years after that.
