direck from da Azalea ******:

I've got access to premium content, the source of which I refuse to divulge. I will now share with you pieces of **** some par excellence reportage from The Port City discussing certain ballers congregating down there for a little all-star action:

On Wednesday ... Mississippi State hired Florida offensive coordinator http://alabama.rivals.com/viewcoach.asp?Coach=287Dan Mullen as its head coach. With big names like http://alabama.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=78169Fletcher Cox, Tyler Russell and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Josh Boyd</span> all anxiously awaiting word of the new hire, it may have been an uncommitted player in Mobile that was the most affected by the new name.
Tupelo (Miss.) High School wide receiver <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Chad Bumphis</span> has recently been rumored to be favoring Florida (and a rival SEC school the name of which we refuse to utter) in the race for his signature. A big reason for Florida's presence on his list of favorites has been Florida's offensive system and the relationship that he has built with Mullen. Suddenly, both of those things will be present right down the road in Starkville and Bumphis spoke with Mullen about that on Wednesday night.

"He said I'd be playing for him at Mississippi State now instead of Florida," Bumphis said of his conversation with Mullen. "I like it. I like him and that move makes it closer to home so yeah that helps Mississippi State. I wouldn't say they're leading but they're up pretty high.'

Mississippi State's emergence for Bumphis has coincided with Florida sliding down his list a bit, based largely on the Mullen hire.

"They dropped a little bit I would say," said the four-star in reference to the Gators. "I mean, [Mullen] was the one that was recruiting me and we were real close. He always told me how he was going to use me because he was the offensive coordinator. So now that he's the head coach he was telling me that he was going to be involved a lot in the passing game."

If Bumphis were to switch over to the Bulldogs, that would be a big in-state pull for Mississippi State who seemed to be on the outside looking in on his recruitment. Bumphis has also proven this week that he is one of the most explosive athletes in the southeast.
Several other players - recruits and commitments alike - reacted to the Mullen hiring:

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Deontae Skinner</span>, 3-star Mississippi State commit - "I am firm to Mississippi State…I like [the Mullen hire] a lot. I have not had a chance to talk to him yet though. I am excited because he came from Florida and he knows about winning."

http://alabama.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=75790Josh Boyd, 4-star Mississippi State commit - "I am still committed to Mississippi State and can't wait to meet the coach. He has a great offensive mind and did some really good things at Florida so I am excited."

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Tyler Russell</span>, 3-star Mississippi State commit - "I really think Coach Mullen is going to open up the offense because that is what he did at Florida. I'm very excited. He is coming by my house this Sunday. He has called me [Tuesday] afternoon but the reception was poor, but we did get to talk for a while. He told me that he wanted to build the program around me and that I was the guy other kids would follow just like they did Tim Tebow. He also said he was looking forward to our talk on Sunday.

http://alabama.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=71134Dennis Thames, uncommitted 4-star - "I got a text message yesterday about [the hire] but I think it's a great hire. I would say I've been communicating the most with Mississippi State."
And, now, muthaf@ckas, go raise a glass to Doc F'n Foglesong. Stand and salute Greg MF'n Byrne. The recruiter we've been needing for years has arrived.

imagine how pitiful things would get waiting on Croom's class to fall apart. We're back in the game now.

Now, let's see if Mullen can bring home a couple of JUCO OLs asap.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Like I said over and 17'ing over, getting rid of him and that **** he called an offense would be the best recruiting tool we could have.

anybody is better than what we had...

Anybody bothered to ask the Jeanspager's why recruits suddenly want to come here now? Will any of them admit to being wrong about firing Crooms?

believe that. If we win 7 games this year Mullen will control recruiting for signing day 2010 in this State.

Bumphis is on to Mullen, not Wilson or Petersen. It also sounds like Bumphis is nowhere near a lock for us. Not much to be excited about yet.

Dennis Thames!! He seems to be a hoss. If we could land him and Montrell Conner then we would have an excellent RB class!!

.......die down and see if the recruits still jump on board and sign on the dotted line. I'm not going to attempt to piss in anyone's cheerios, but just simply say that we should try not to get too far ahead of ourselves. Be optimistic, but stay realistic.
