Surgery on his hand, expected back sometime this year.

Some sources say they expect him to miss 3 weeks. They host Mississippi in 4 weeks. With their crazy luck these last 2 seasons I’m sure Mateer will miss 4-6 weeks.

Oklahoma QB John Mateer to undergo hand surgery

Sooners quarterback John Mateer will undergo hand surgery for an injury suffered in the first quarter of last week's win over Auburn. Mateer, an early Heisman favorite, is expected to return this season, the school said.
