There are two hurdles to potentially clear:
1) Will Auburn can him for going 5-7? They are 4-5 right now with games against UT-Martin, Georgia, and Bama left. I'd say there is a strong chance of a 5-7 record. Is that enough for Tommy to get canned?
2) Will Clemson want him? I think Clemson would/could get him over us.
I'm sure Tommy would laugh at the thought right now, but we could pay him a good salary, and he would get to compete every year against Auburn, Ole Miss, and Bama. Tommy would be about the only 'retread' I could get excited about.
