I hope they do feel bad. I hope that drives them to get better. Lord knows we need to be much better

That's so cute. Most talented team in the SEC and made a pact to go to Omaha. You buying the full tournament pass or just going to a few of the games?

Nitpicking is to be expected here...

On the bigger issues, I mostly agree with you. The season is far from over and still has a chance to be a special one for us IMO. Need to start turning it around today though -- and we've got to get Woodruff or Mitchell in the game and get Lindgren back healthy.

I have some advice for our pitchers (in case you get to chat with them before first pitch): throw strikes.

Asking this place not to nitpick and not be critical or negative would be like asking hugh freeze to not have bucked teeth. It won't happen.

I'm certainly not in the "season's over" crowd, but the fans are frustrated (the same way the team is) because its not hard to see how much potential we have. Many of the Cohen criticism I agree with, mainly taking out hot hitters and pitchers to win paper matchups. There is no reason for that. Let the guy give you a good reason to sub (like hitting 0-fer in the 7th or walking two consecutive guys with no outs, injury, or discipline issues), but quit the damn subbing game. That's my biggest frustration. It ruins the psyche, confidence, and cohesion of the entire team and it would be foolish to say that has not at least played a big role in us not reaching our potential.

A pact to make it to Omaha. Brilliant, yet so simple. I hope you don't mind if share this revolutionary idea with Bianco.

You want to stop telling people on here what qualifies as a "true fan" or a "true supporter." You come off as being a super Genespage douchebag.

Yep... That's the vocal minority MO here... Throw in the towel at the first sign of adversity in a game -- throw in the towel at the first sign of adversity in a season.

Big, big difference between being pissed about the results and expecting better -- and quitting on the team, calling them overrated, and giving up. The majority of us here fall into the first category. Unfortunately many of the "loudest" ones fall into the latter.

I expect more -- and I expect better -- but I still believe this can be a special season for us...

So you're saying...

I spend a multitude of hours every week gathering film of our upcoming opponents and send the video to the coaches. I add some input on what I see from certain players, and the coaches take it from there.

So you're saying its not your fault the team is 5-7 in the last 12 games. Got yah, keep up the relentless effort.

I'd suggest staying away from the message boards and start pressing record on tapes more.

If only we'd thought of this LAST year. And the year before. And the year before that.

No. I'm saying there's a hell of lot more to making it to Omaha than making a pact to go. And right now this team is playing its way out of hosting a regional, which is pretty important if you want to go to Omaha.

I know it was chilly against UK when Kendall threw, so with the weather being a little warmer I'm hoping he get some more movement out of his pitches.

Dude, posting on this board using your real name and saying that you work for the baseball team and with the coaches is the dumbest thing you could do. The coaches and athletics dept. read this board and they are not happy when their student employees get on them and say stuff like this. Just a piece of advice, quit posting about Cohen and his decisions because he will see it and know that it's you. Then it's trouble from there. I agree, his tactics are questionable but be honest, we were not supposed to be 2-5 in the SEC at this point in the season. This team was supposed to great things and they may still do great things, but this is not where this team should be right now. I hope it gets better from here out but dude, I'm telling you, if the coaches see this, they will roast you.

We are just pissed we were fed...

...a bunch of ******** about what an outstanding pitching staff this team would have, yet are forced to suffer through every game watching our wild-*** pitchers serve up countless BB. It's really that simple. Since the Central Arkansas series, the combined walks given up by this pitching staff must be around 30. (Will James can check his spreadsheet & verify). Since when has displaying no control on the mound been a recipe for advancement to Omaha? Go voluntarily ask them that.

Don't forget the bean balls we serve up either. If opposing batters didnt even carry a bat to the plate, we'd probably still put one on per inning

..about what a load of crap we were fed concerning the greatness of this pitching staff.

We weren't "fed" anything -- it's what we all believed based on what we had seen over the prior 81 games(although the walk issue has been a problem ALL year -- since before we started losing) -- and it's been the singlemost disappoint aspect of this entire team. The "our pitching staff is going to be great" mindset was not sunshine pumping from our coaches -- it's what almost all of us believed based on how good we were last year and what we brought back...

Okay, we were deceived ...

...you can play the sematics game all you want, but it all returns to the fact we were not properly informed about how subpar this pitching staff was going to be in the absence of Chris Stratton.
