Ok Todd, which 8 get cut based on what you know so far?

All I know is unless someone cuts themselves, they are going to give everyone every opportunity to make the team, so it won't be known until February.

All I'll say is, it will be very tough for any of the walk-ons to make it.

What I think is ridiculous is they can't "cut" someone that we know is going to be out for the year like Ben Bracewell, and then bring them back the next year so that they won't take up a roster spot.

I think the surprise guy for me so far as been Evan Mitchell. He has been hitting the low 90's in scrimmages and has looked better than I thought he would.

His family bleeds maroon and while that is irrelevant to making the team, his family are good people and I hope he is good enough to contribute to the team.

He is hitting around the .240's in the scrimmages I believe. I think he will contribute more down the line as opposed to this year, though. He has been learning how to play catcher a little bit, but he also has been playing some middle infield as well.

that gives me hope for improved pitching. Garrett's a player with a good stick.

they're all going to have to make some adjustments, but it takes at bats and experience to do that. They're all facing better pitching than what they were in high school.

I think the pitching will be better. The biggest thing is to stay healthy- especially Routt and Chris Stratton. I'm pretty optomistic about Routt coming back- he may start throwing some next week I think. Devin Jones needs to step up. His stuff is too good to be a middle relief guy.
