EKU- overlooked our opponent
Vandy- had equal talent, beat our selves more that Vandy beat us.

If people can't see that talent is an issue, then I don't know wha to say.
Lol this guy tryin justify our staff by blaming the talent has me crying of laughter buddy. I myself have never seen so many mistakes from one staff in a game my entire life. Very inept coaching skills. He's had 3 years to learn how to manage very simple in game situations. And he manages to fail everytime. They've definitely perfected the how to video for what not to do as head coach. It doesn't matter how well someone can recruit. If they can't coach for a damn. Let's compare stats at the time they re entered towels into the game. 5-8 60 yards 1 TD. 1 INT. 5-17 0 TD 1 INT 22 yards. and they decide to take the guy out who's 5-8 with a TD for the guy who's averaging less than 2 yards per attempt with zero TDS? Also did you not hear the announcers for the game pretty much mind boggled with decision after decision stoops came up with thru out the entire game? You think they have an agenda? It's like they were mad for us almost lol. It's not the angry fans seeing this man. Neutral people who just spectate the games can see how inept the coaching is.

These recruits are not going to hang on with us after this disastrous way to end the season. You're trying to say it's an improvement over last season? It's literally zero improvement with a way easier schedule than last year. And to compare stoops 3rd year to brooks is hilarious. You see how much money the university is backing into the program? Brooks had nothing to work with. Not only that. Had stoops had brooks schedule from his 3rd year. We'd probably only have finished with 3 wins max. This schedule is pathetic compared to last years and brooks 3rd year. Just a really biased unfair comparison on your end in an effort to make yourself seem like you know something about something.

Idk what improvement you're seeing that has you so encouraged. But I love the energy! Bit of a advice from a guy with a very honest unbiased realistic opinion. What I'm seeing is a staff losing all respect from its players because the players themselves know the coaches are way in over their heads. When they put towles back in I'm almost 99% sure that pissed off a lot of players on the team. If you can't get respect from your players.. If you run out of shotgun 3 straight plays from the one yard line starting on first too 4th down. You don't deserve to win any games with that kind of inept coaching. With decisions like that you don't even deserve to have a job to be honest. And this is coming from a guy who wants stoops to succeed! I just can't see it happening though man.

I seriously created an account just to laugh at this blind optimism. You think recruits can fix this staffs coaching ability? What a joke you must be a 12 year old that cherishes his stoops autograph that he got on fan day so that's why you refuse to believe he's a failure. Thinking that autograph will be worth something one day. Hey. I can't lie I had faith in stoops before the season still. But time after time game after game there appears to be countless coaching errors that I've never before witnessed from any other staff on any other team my entire life. You'll learn one day so I won't give you too much hell. You just gotta open your eyes and see things for what it is sometimes. Very comparable to the billy g days of basketball. Couldn't even count all the coaching errors that he had in the vandy game on all my toes and fingers. Really sad to be honest I feel sorry for the guy. Biggest game of his entire tenure thus far and was probably the worst coaching performance I've ever seen in my entire life. Like without a close 2nd. He just can't handle the pressure. When it's do or die he crumbles. Time after time. And then tells the fans it's not as easy as it looks and that they should try it if they think they could do better. That's about the sorrier thing I've ever heard a coach say. After previously saying there will be a much improved product on the field and encouraging the fans to come out and support. You're getting paid 3 million a year to do something you have no idea how to do so shut up and rack up them checks and stop complaining! Man up or shut up no room for excuses stop saying if it worked everyone would be calling you a genius when making a horrible, detrimental play call. He always has excuses. That's not a good quality for a coach to have believe it or not. He's trained fans like you to come up with excuses for him it seems like. To say this season is an improvement after almost losing to eku and ULL is hilarious. We at least beat vandy last year but somewhere along the lines since then we've improved even though we lost to them this past Saturday? You know how awful those teams are? Yup lets chalk everything up to the lack of recruits. When we get the recruits then we'll be able to beat the eku's, ULL's, and vandys soundly right?

Can't lie though I love your optimism! But you know what stoops record is in his last 16 games? You like to call these things opinions about the direction the program is heading but then you go on telling people you know for a fact the program is improving because every year since stoops arrival weve apparently gotten better and so on and so forth with your homerisms. But here are some numbers. Which are facts. That prove your theory of our program heading in the right direction to be very wrong. Not opinions. Facts my friend. Numbers don't lie btw! Stoops in his last 16 games is 4-12 with wins against abysmal teams such as eku, Missouri, ULL, and South Carolina. All 4 wins in his last 16 games are against some pretty weak competition to put it nicely. What about that record and those wins shows you that we've improved? Not a single quality win in his last 16 games. It's fans like you that are ok with our program being a bottom dweller and always trying to justify it as if it's ok, is why we're always going to suck. It's not acceptable, it's not justifiable man. Some of us are actually tired of sucking. And no bro recruits aren't gonna make these coaches learn how to coach believe it or not. You know what he said last week? That special teams won't be an issue going forward. Was special teams a major issue Saturday? Didn't he say we would be a much improved product on the field this season because of the talent and that it's the first time since being here that he's been confident enough to say that? According to stoops before the season we had plenty of talent more so than ever. And somehow we're worse than last season? If you can't tell that coaching is way more of an issue with this team than talent. Then I don't know if you'll ever truly get it man. UGA isn't the old UGA. They did not have much more talent than us yet they manhandled us. How many ranked teams did we play in this 5 game losing streak? ZERO and we've been embarrassed every single game. That's because of the talent? You kidding? I'm holding out hope for you though you seem like a good kid.

Vandy has qual talent? Lol. You have so many excuses for this coaching staff it actually is funny though. What about him saying he's going to play all those subs against eku? What's the excuse for that?

Nick Saban always talks about "the process". He refers to following a plan, concentrating on the steps in the plan, and continually improving each game. His OC and DC are responsible for implementing the process. A quintessential CEO. Stoops does not appear to have a game management plan in place. He seems to spontaneously change course and interfere with the decisions of his coordinators during key game situations. Someone needs to teach him how to define and stick to the parameters of in-game decision making authority.

If I'm Stoops I pull a Derek Mason and call the defense. You start Barker against charlotte. get him the reps and prepare for a winnable game against the dirty birds. 6 wins and a bowl game will fix some wounds. win the bowl game then suddenly 7-6 with a bowl win isn't so bad. Then you've set yourself up with a QB with experiance going into next yr.

UGA doesn't have much more talent than us. That's the facts. They have a little bit more talent but not by a wide margin or anything. Look how pathetic you are that's all you have to say? At least you know you're wrong about pretty much everything I wrote about thats why you couldn't say anything about any of what I said besides uga has more talent than us. You've been wrong about pretty much everything that you've defended stoops on in this thread. So it's you that has zero credibility sir you're the one making excuses for stoops.

So I'm guessing you have credibility because of all the bs excuses you come up with for stoops? Come on man at least admit that the numbers I posted. Prove that stoops ain't nothing special. He's 4-12 in his last 16 games. And you're the one saying he's improving year by year? So what kind of credibility do you have? We're on a 5 game losing streak against all unranked teams that have embarrassed us. Tell me where you see improvement? And tell me how that makes you credible? Which excuse that you came up with for stoops makes you credible? Am I missing something here? You didn't have anything to say about him being 4-12 in his last 16 glames.

What proves the UGA doesn't have more talent? Everything that judges recruiting or talent says that they do. I didn't argue your post much because most of it was nothing but name calling and insults instead of logically having a discussion. I have not been wrong in anything factual. It being your opinion doesn't make it a fact.

4-12 in last 16 games does not mark improvement every year since stoops has been here. Pathetic man no hope for you. 4-12 in last 16 games are the facts. Those are the numbers that destroy your argument that stoops has improved year by year here. Those numbers prove you wrong. Not an opinion. Those numbers are facts that prove your argument and your excuses for stoops wrong. Nothing about you making excuses for us being 4-12 last 16 games is factual. Just a very easy opinion of yours to prove wrong. I used facts to prove your opinion wrong. Which means you have zero credibility.

Great talent (or the perception of great talent) is only as good as the coaches who develop the players. At the moment, Georgia fans are hemmoraging over their season and ready to hang Mark Richt, if not escort him out of the state.

The facts are we are 4-12 in our last 16 games with zero quality wins. The facts are we've gotten worse we haven't improved. 4-12 over last 16 games proves your argument that we've improved every year under stoops wrong. If you can't admit that. Then there's no hope and I'm done replying to your delusions.

Dude. You should be done. 4-12 is all you have mentioned. We have improved. Yes, we have hit a tough stretch. Many teams do that, especially ones that are facing the tasks that are obvious in our program and have been for years. That being said, I never said Stoops was for sure the man. I like him and love his recruiting. No..it isn't elite, but it is a hell of a lot better than we have ever gotten. Now, I want to give him time to develop that talent. I also said he alas a lot to correct and improve upon. I have said it in many posts. But I am not ready to fire him either.

Also, how is USC two years in a row and Mizzous not quality wins? Don't give me some lame excuse about how bad they suck this year, because they are still teams with good talent and we have sucked forever. So beating them was good wins for US because they have been waaay ahead of us before the last two years for USC and Mizzou this year. Now, part of that is that we caught them a bit and part of that is they dropped off a bit. But for us those are quality wins.

And again, if you don't think UGA, MSU, and UT have more talent than us you should not be calling people stupid and clueless. You yourself said numbers don't lie, which isn't always true but in this case is, and in every thing you look at recruiting wise says that they have more talent.

USC and mizzou are not quality wins because they suck. Stoops said before the year that we'd be much better. We're worse than we were last year. 4-12 nuff said. If 4-12 is good enough for you then so be it but it's not good enough for the rest of us. We have gotten worse. 4-12 means we've gotten worse.. Not better. 4-12 does not mean we've improved since last year. It just simply doesn't. You're a waste of time I'm done arguing with you now since there's literally not a logical bone in your body.

This 'brutal 5 game stretch you're talking about' no one is mad that we lost. We're pissed because all 5 teams are UNRANKED and have EMBARRASSED us. It would be different had we fought and been competitive. But we didn't we got annihilated. We didn't just lose like you're saying. We've been getting embarrassed week in and week out. Big difference in losing, and getting embarrassed every week. I'm now done with your nonsense

Did not read all of the responses but..

Short term (till year's end):

1. Give the reins to Barker for the next few games. He needs equal time to show what he has and develop as opposed to being thrown to the wolves mid-game while looking over his shoulder.
2. Be hands off with Dawson and let him scheme, game plan and call his game. See what he has. If it's not any better than what we've seen the past 6 or so games, evaluate whether or not he's a good fit for UK in the off season.
3. Take over the defense. Your MO has been as a great DC. Fully immerse yourself in the game planning, preparation and game calling. Make the decision in the off season if Eliot is salvageable but for the rest of the year, run the defensive show.
4. Assign a current coach, who has the most experience with ST, to coordinate the ST unit. Dumb it down as much as you can, use starters on coverage and return teams and focus on the basics.
5. See #2 below (recruit like a mad man).

Longer term (after the season is over)

1. Hire the best ST coach money can buy and let him use starters if chooses to do so. Yes, I know injuries can happen but ST is a unique phase of the game - like offense and defense. Treat it so.
2. Keep recruiting like a mad man. Use this season a positive to show that there's a TON of PT available for good players. Speaking of recruiting, try and hit the JUCO ranks up for some DL talent.
3. Honestly evaluate the entire staff, including head coach, at the end of the year. Make changes where necessary.

That's a start and I would make adjustments depending on how things played out.

The two ways that you can usually tell of how a good of coach you have/had is how good of a bump you get when they come and how bad the drop is when they leave. It's not always measured in wins or losses, but you can usually see a better product on the field in the first year there (unless you just absolutely lose everything coming in). You can tell when a team just looks better coached.

I've always thought our search for a coach should either be a coach that has made a team significantly better or a coach that left a program and the program took a downhill turn pretty fast with another coach coaching the same players. Coaching is more important than many on here want to believe. UGA, UT, USC, Michigan, Miami, and some others have recruited well for over a decade and have tradition, yet their programs had significantly declined.
