don't have talent? Sound off folks. Let your voice be heard! I wanna know who thinks we aren't the 2nd most talented team in the SEC w/ a healthy Hood? I'm gonna write this down this time I swear. Because I STILL see people "tickling the whiskers" of this statement. That we aren't as talented as "people" (analysists mind you. Guys who get paid to know this ****. Not Bert in his basement eating hotpockets in his mom's basement who played ball at the Y) THINK we are. Seriously, not AS talented as people think we are? Based on what knowledge? What knowledge do you have that DISproves what Hubert Davis (former talented Tarheel), Jay Williams (former Dukie), Alphoso Ellis (decent Dever Nugget PF) or Jay Bilas are saying? If you STILL think that we aren't the 2nd most talented team in the SEC (like ALL these guys have said we ARE) raise your hand and be counted. After which I ask you to keep your 17ing hand up as I ask...."who is a Stans enabler?" Because those same dumbasses who have thier hands up ARE in FACT Stansbury enablers! Or apologists or whatever the 17 the OTHER people with no hands raised will and should call them. I actually agree with Jay Williams this morning, this team has NO heart! 0 <3</p>

We've got some talented players, but we only have 1 NBA player on our roster. Time will tell if that's right or not, but I've seen a lot of highly hyped players who didn't do anything. We do have enough talent to not be on the bubble right now. We should be a strong Sweet 1 contender if not make the Sweet 16, but we don't come anywhere near it. Partly because we have no depth of talent, but mostly because Williams and everyone else is right when they say we have no heart.

We have some talent but Vandy has 4 good Seniors and a great NBA player Jenkins who is a Junior. But we get it, ours haven't done as well as they should have.

it may be a 10 day contract- but Bost may get his shot. When you can score 13 and dish out 13 assts on a given night- you can play in an NBA game.

3rd or 4th? Behind who? This is the people I'm talking about right here. And whoever said earlier about "these guys get PAID for thier analysis" is right. Just like brain surgeon gets paid for his and you don't. Because they know wt17 they're talking about not this idiot here. Kentucky is the ONLY team more talented than us. ONLY!We have 4 of our 5 starters who are going to get a CHANCE to play in the NBA. I don't give a rat's *** what you people think about Sid, somebody WILL take a chance on him. Just based on Lucas' word. WATCH! You can't coach 6'8" w/ a mind for the game, a nice mid-range game so Hood's in. Moultrie is a 17ing draft pick for crying out loud. Dee didn't even play PG before he came to Starkville. He was a 3 or 4 in H.S. Look how far he's come under crappy coaching, he's gonna go as well. But I guess we don't have talent huh? WTH?

Beyond that, you still have no clue what you are talking about. Dee played the 2 in high school, not the 3 or 4. I know this 1st hand. 2nd of all, Vandy and Florida have just as much talent as we do, and just because you throw exclamation points and words in all caps at us doesn't mean theydon't. You saying we 100% have more talent than they do shows meyou know nothing about basketball.

Most everyone agrees we have talent, so stop arguing with yourself. Vandy and Florida have at least as much talent as we do, so don't kid yourself that we are some top 10 talented team.

By the way, learn to use some damn commas and quit this stream of consciousness thing. It's very tough to read.

depth, or lack thereof, we're not the second most talented team.......More like the 3rd or 4th, IMO....However, back to your point, "YES" we have talent......We don't have coaching, player development, discipline or heart........

I think you could justify that Derrick Rose was an NBA player in his freshman year. Hood is not exactly of that caliber yet.

potential. Until that potential is realized you can't really say for certain they are talented...but you are correct...we should be kickingass.

He wasn't drafted and hasn't sniffed a regular season NBA contract. SR may get a shot, but it's far from a good bet.

Bost may get his shot (Lin got his...barely), but it's a business. Like most players who aren't All-World, Bost has got to land withthe right team at the right time.

I think we are no less than the 3rd most talented team in the SEC and the most talented starting 5 of Stansbury's tenure. Probably the 2nd most talented team overall. The problem with this team is heart, motivation and consistency. You can't coach heart, but you can do something about motivation and consistency. I have always supported Stans, because overall, he has had more success, than probably any other sports program at MSU during his tenure. If we make the NCAA tournament, he will probably keep his job, but this team has the talent to be better than that, but not the heart. Stansbury is in a situation similar to Mark Richt, Mike Bianco and insert any other coach that hasn't gotten it done in the NCAA postseason. At this point, if we don't make the NCAA tournament, I think you have to make a move. I do not want just any mid-major coach with recent success. At MSU, you need a recruiting overachiever that knows what it is like to coach in the SEC. The SEC is better than it gets credit for. Our middle of the pack teams have beaten Connecticut (Tennessee) and Michigan (Arkansas) this year. Kentucky is on another level all together. I would take a chance on a Butch Pierre, Robert Kirby or Stan Jones type of coach. We need a coach that knows how to recruit and coach physical, tough defense in the SEC.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

majority of players HAVE improved under Stans. Moultriewith two years in the program is a first round pick ... not so much when he left UTEP.

And, I'll just have to raise my hand ... we areNOT the second most talented team in the SEC.

and asingle direction provided by coaching, this is what you get. Great coaches can take average talent and provide above average results with scheming and plays. ****** coaches can take great talent and provide sub-par below expectation results, with undisciplined players and no organization on offense or defense.

You be the judge of what we have.

And the ESPN talking heads watch a hell of a lot more bball than any of us on here and have been projecting future NBA players longer than most of you have been alive. I'd like to think that when a majority of them say we have top talent in the SEC, that we more than likely do.

BiscuitEater: Do you honestly think that Moultrie blossomed under Stans? He wason theCUSA All-Freshman team and led UTEP or was tops in most of their statistical categories. He's UTEPs 12th all time leader in shot blocks,in justTWO 17ING seasons. HE was a member of the USA U19 team that played in the FIBA world championship, yet he didnt blossom until stans started teaching him how to rebound and block out. What the 17?

What the 17 else do some of you people need as proof that Stans is the reason we have underachieved year after year. The players have changed over the past 8-9 seasons, but two things have remained constants, head coach and underachieving. If you have stats to refute that, please post.

because I honestly don't watch enough of other SEC teams to know what kind of talent they have. I expect most people are in the same boat as me.<div>
</div><div>But I'll tell you what would convince we we're the 2nd most talented team:</div><div>
</div><div>1. If we could get any kind of offensive production out of Wendell Lewis.</div><div>2. If Deville Smith had even lived up to half the preseason hype. He has 8 points total in SEC games other than Arkansas, shooting an amazing 2-16.</div><div>3. If we had one more player that could come in and give us anything off the bench (Shaun Smith, Roquez Johnson)</div><div>
</div><div>Like others have said, we have no depth. Six guys score all our points in SEC games. Deville Smith & Wendell Lewis may give us minutes off the bench but they don't score. Lewis played almost 30 minutes against Auburn & had 1 shot... 1 shot attempt in 30 minutes. You want to know why our offense stalls out - because we have no one on our bench that demands attention from the defense. I bet teams love to see Wendell Lewis out there because they know he's such a liability on offense.</div>
