for certain. byrne is prepared for this and this won't be a spur of the moment thing as it would have been with LT. thank god that guy is gone.

I heard that guy on rivals radio the other day. He is very impressive and a hell of a coach. I want Petersen as option 1, but Kelly is a close 2.
Peterson is my guess, and who I would really like to see us hire. He would definitely energize the program quickly. I would buy season tickets again and increase my pledge to The Bulldog Club immediately. Of course, whoever we hire would see me renew season tickets. I was waiting for Croom to go and now that he has so I am back on board.
I think UT messed up taking Kiffin over Kelly. I want Petersen first, and Brian Kelly 2nd. I have confidence GB will make the best hire possible no matter what though. Anything will be better than what we had.

I don't care who you are how you felt about the Croom firing. Yes we needed change, but it would be nice if the people who will actually work with the new coach would get a heads up or some input. Greg Byrne is a snake in the grass, and when the grass is cut, the snakes will show. He is biting everyone in the *** now and doesn't care. Everyone whose job and scholarship rides on who this new coach is, is clueless. The man needs to ask the people who matter their opinion, or at least communicate what's going on. These kids came here to play for Croom. Do y'all know how many big time recruits were going to sign on Monday after the Ole Miss game even after that loss? It's because of the man.We had a good honest man at this university leading by example by promoting character and discipline. That is the only way we'll win around here because we don't have the money or the facilities. We are going to have to win with less talented kids who work hard and have the right attitude. If y'all don't see that, you need to take a second look.
We have NEVER really had a legit coaching search like this EVER before. In the past we always "got our guy" because no one else wanted him. Sometimes you don't get the guy that you're after.
As far the players, I am willing to sacrifice one class, even if it's the best class in MSU history to get a coach who will actually win over time. Besides, I have no confidence in Croom's ablility to develop players, even if we got Southern Cal type class.
You are partially right in that we are going to have to win with players who are less talented, work hard and have the right attitude- and that makes it imperative that we hire someone who can coach them up. Croom could not do that. And not only that, he was all talk. He couldn't back up what he was preaching. We might as well had Benny Henn as a football coach. What Byrne is doing right now is trying to find the coach that CAN coach them up and win. We can not afford to have a coach that doesn't know when to go for it on 4th down or not.
The we don't have the money thing is a lie sold to you by LT so that he could be lazy and justify hirng the Sly Croom's of the world.
