Okay so if we get Ward that'll give us three 5 star defensive linemen....

Then I hope the enjoys his career at OM where it looks like the best he could hope for in his career there is mediocrity.

Yea, he should go to MSU where he can win 6-6 championships.
Or go to UM where you lose 15 SEC games in a row..... but your worried about becoming a national player and don't worry about small petty things like being the best in MS.

Wow being called a sheep by a dumbass who wonders if 1 signee will make us "competitive" when we were ALREADY "competitive" on that side of the ball w/ said teams. How about focus your efforts on the side of the ball that which was our boon, dumbass!

EAVdog[/b]]Their defense is going to get a ton of work next year. Everyone on Dwill be getting 40 minutes plus of play timeper game. No way in hell their Offense can maintain a pace of 80-100 plays a game with the roster they have. I'm going to call it now, they will set records for the number of 3 and outs.
After watching Wommack here in Atlanta at Ga Tech I might have to revise my statement about number of snaps by their Offense. When Wommack was DC at Tech they gave up an average of 30 points. And that is after factoring in how much time that Ga Tech's Offense holds the ball. They were terrible and when Al Groh took over their defense turned around immediately. He won't be in Oxford for year 2, but if he is that whole bunch won't be there for year 3.
You do realize this is attractive to a DE. That means more snaps, more tackles, more TFL, and more sacks.Numbers are what put DE's in the league.

Edit:You completely made up those stats. In Wommack's two years at GT they had the 5th and 6th best defense in theACC averaging 19 and 24 pts a game. The next two years with Groh they had the 8th and 9th best defense averging 26 and 27 pts a game.

I think you under estimate the arrogance of a highly recruited 18 year old. Last year Brassel, Moncrief, and Tobias said they were all going to the same schooland will win anational championship. You dont think Channing Ward believes he's the answer to OM's defensive problems?By no means is that true, but you arereally over looking these kid's arrogance. What a team did without them isnt asbig a concern as you think

FlabLoser[/b]]McPhee was a great DE. But in his last season here, he didn't ring up the stats because teams could double team him without fear of our other DL guys at the time.

</div><div>So as it stands, Ward coming here would light up the stat sheet since the OL can't afford to double team him with Quay, Autry, etc out there too.</div>
These kids arent even on campus and youre saying they will hold offdouble teams? We have two four stars and a five star on our DL and they blow.

LSU and Bama's DLs are way way better than ours right now. Quay Evans, Nick James, Autry, and yes one more player in Ward would give us elite talent on the DL if Cox stays. That would give us Cox, Boyd, Eulls, Quay, Ward, Nick James, and Autry with a cast of others. Our Defense kept us competitive in those games, but by no means was it near as effective as LSU's and Bama's D against our offense.

Your team is irrelevant. Comparisons to your team are irrelevant. We have Wilson, you have Nix. So just don't go there.<div>
</div><div>And if it wasn't obvious, I was speaking generally about the career I expect these guys to have (on our team), and not game 1 of their 1st season.</div><div>
