Caleb Williams in transfer portal…after losing Rattler, and their QB commit flipping to follow Riley to USC, if Williams leaves OU they have ONE QB on scholarship.

Williams said that staying at Oklahoma would "definitely be an option" as he goes through the process. He explained that, as a student-athlete, the only way under NCAA rules he could speak to other schools and "see who may offer the best preparation and development for my future career is by entering the portal."

Translation: Who's offering the most bills to pay the skills?

Maybe not. He may have more to his character than we see from some and be ultra interested in those characteristics that will have a lot to do with his maturity and growing into a productive adult rather than setting financial gain as his primary emphasis. None of us know the kid and making projections based on NO FACTS is unreasonable and totally unfair to him. Projections of what folks with single focus on SELF might do is, actually, quite the insult when there are no facts on which to base such.

He already revealed his character by entering the portal instead of sticking with the team he committed to.

This is insane. The way to fix this is to require someone to be at a new transfer school for one year before getting NIL money. The other would be to cap how much total NIL money can go into players at one program in any one year. Otherwise it will be college kids playing against an NFL Development team. (Think of WVU playing against the South Bay Lakers in basketball).

Every player should be given an opportunity to maximize their potential and playing time. If that's why they are leaving...go for it.

However....Turning this into a meat market is inevitable unless someone steps in.
