I was looking at how Oklahoma State has been recruiting the past few years (which is slightly better than us) and noticed that 70% of their players are from Texas. Maybe only 15% of the team is actually from Oklahoma and another 15% from everywhere else ( California, Arizona, Kansas, etc) . It got me thinking and I was curious how you would feel if 70% of our players resided from Alabama or Louisiana? I know its not a huge deal but you would think the in state rivalry between us and OM would carry less of a meaning between the team and they would actually be more interested in beating teams from their home state (Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech).

No doubt about it. But the facts are, you have to get football players. And there aren't that many in the state of Oklahoma, so they HAVE to go to Texas. I'm sure if they had their way, they'd stay in Oklahoma. But that's not reality. In a way, that's the beauty of college football.

We are fortunate enough to be located in a state with a good bit of talent. Not enough to field a whole football team for 2 universities, but certainly better than Oklahoma. Actually, I would like to see about 40% of our team come from Alabama and Louisiana, because there are a lot of good football players there. Alabama and LSU can't get them all. AND, it's not like the rest of the country is recruiting there either. They are in Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, LA, Chicago, DC, Dallas and Houston.
