I won't say trash but, well, yeah. My first Rheingeist disappointment.
Went to Chicago recently. Picked up some Three Floyds Munsterfest. Darn good beer.
But, just in general I tend to be more traditional when it comes to Oktoberfest beers. I had one lately that was extremely hoppy and was labeled Oktoberfest. It was a good beer but I wouldn't call it an Oktoberfest.

Went to the New Albanian Brewing CO. And picked up a couple growers. Strassenbrau and Hacksaw Jim Dunkel. Strassenbrau was ok the HJD was very good one of my favorites.
Drinking a Spaten Oktoberfest Ur-Märzen as we speak. Love the malts and toffee hints. Solid.
If you get Goose Island Oktoberfest there it has toffee and apricot notes!
Thanks. Drank one last year, but was too drunk at the time for a substantive review. Will look out for this year's batch.

Tried some linkerhaus harvest ale tonight and it was damn good!

First timer. Bought some Octoberfest Marzen style from Shinerbock. Liked it. Looking forward to trying some of these recommendations.
