What would you say if Jay Barker took in a 6'5 300 lb tenth grader off the street and then said kid ends up at Alabama as an All-American? What would you say if MSU fights for 3 years to get a 6'4 300 lb defensive lineman who can't read into State? What would you say if State's players all had dreadlocks and tats?

Karma is a ***** and I sincerely hope it comes back on Ole Miss one day soon.............no offense.

First question, I would say that Jay barker was a bigger fan than I am, because i really like Ole Miss, but I wouldn't let the next Bo Jackson live with me for three years so that he could play at Ole Miss.

If MSU fought for 3 years to get an overrated DL into school, best of luck to you, what do i care if MSU recruits can't read.

Im pretty sure MSU does have players with Dreads and tats. Im not sure what the problem with dreads and tats, but it didn't bother me this season.

We lost two starters in basketball to season ending knee injuries, so I think we are even this season.

Ole Miss lost 3 starters to season ending injuries in basketball and your coach got arrested but basketball does not count with Ole Miss in the karmic scheme of things.

What would you say if Jay Barker took in a 6'5 300 lb tenth grader off the street and then said kid ends up at Alabama as an All-American?

I would say "Wow, Jay. You and hanmudog have got to be the biggest promoters of your respective schools. That is some definite love and commitment. What if the kid did not pan out? Especially, considering the kid never played football before until quite some time after you adopted him!?!? Jay, you have a better knack for scouting talent and recruiting for you school than the Great Ed Orgeron! Jay, you are one crazy guy....but you blindly love your Alabama football. You remind me of that hanmudog fellow."
What would you say if MSU fights for 3 years to get a 6'4 300 lb defensive lineman who can't read into State?

I would say "Wow, Mississippi State administration! Best of luck getting the kid in school. Hanmudog's allegiance as a fan depends on it! If he fails to ever play, they'll have to subtract the multiple 5-star recruits from Sylvester Croom's classes and Hanmudog would lose the slight edge he has over his bar friends from Arkansas when discussing recruiting."

What would you say if State's players all had dreadlocks and tats?

I would say "I'm glad that they're dealing with this whole integration deal perfectly well just as the other schools in the nation."

but you definitely picked a bad time to do it. Yesterday was a real good day for Ole Miss in football and most people are not going to be so quick to get into a **** fest with you over something that in the end really doesnt matter.

The only thing I will say about those questions is, I have no idea how I would react until they happen. Its hard to imagine because it hasnt happened, at MSU, and I dont really know Oher's story all that well. As for Powe I dont think he is any worse than many that have gone to other SEC school, it was just more publicly known for whatever reason.

was what the hell did Ogeron tell Snead to convince him to come to play for him ? I mean if O doesn`t completely screw up the 07 Eggbowl Snead is playing for O this year on a 5-7 Ole Miss team. Surley Snead didn`t think O would be a great QB coach . What up ?

When would you prefer that I do it? My point is that all these goings on at Ole Miss are directly what led to the Cotton Bowl this season. You guys look the other way and say that it goes on everywhere but that is utter horse pucky. The dreads and tats I just threw in for all the MSU players over the years that I have heard called thugs because of how they looked.

1. Jay, I hope this works out well from every aspect;
2. Good luck, its a hard thing to get accomplished; and
3. How do the white guys get real dreads without the black guys laughing their asses off.

Now questions:

1. Do you not have anything better to do than worry about Ole Miss, Gerald, and Dexter, among other things?
2. Is 7 of 8 years of ****** football worse with Jacqueline and the Walrus worse than 4 years of ****** football with a sick lazy guy and a shrimper?
3. Did you really think you were hot snot writing this crap?

That you mentioned that had any impact on the game yesterday.

I understand you being pissed that Ole Miss just won the Cotton Bowl by beating the crap out of a Top Ten team, but out of the things you mentioned Oher is the only person that actually contributed to this season's overall result.

if you have a prominent booster "adopting" a 17 year old who just happens to sign with said booster's alma mater AND the same school just happens to spend three years getting a functional illiterate into an alleged institution of higher learning, what else is being done to recruit the players? Are these isolated incidents or is this just the tip of the iceberg.

you act like nothing like this ever happens anywhere else. The only reason the Oher story is so well known is because of the book. If not for that only a few people would even know it happened, not saying it was right or wrong. Also with Powe, it was his wish to enroll in Ole Miss. He didnt want to go to a community college and did whatever the NCAA asked him to do. For whatever reason, he stuck with it and now he is being rewarded with being able to play football, and will probably play at the next level as well.

Our Final Four trip was 13 years ago and we still hear **** from Ole Miss fans about Dontae and shady academic dealings as well as Pig Prather's woderlic test performance. Get used to hearing it because it is the same crap Ole Miss fans have been doling out for years about MSU.

You act like Ole Miss is pristine and has never been hit with probabtion. There is no doubt that our last one was way worse than your last one and we had another one just a few years before it. Im sure if the NCAA decides we did something wrong we will get punished for it.

is what I`d like to hear some of you rebs take a stab at because it has always looked like the kid was promised something if he could get eligible. Why would anyone with a half a brain not just take the shortest distance between two points and get his *** into the NFL ASAP.

Yes, OM has recently pulled **** with players that would get some schools (like Miss. State for instance) the Death Penalty.

But keep in mind OM football has been at a big disadvantage since intergration, so for them to just be eligible for the Cotton Bowl in the post intergration era is a huge deal for them, not to mention winning it.

Lastly, if you try to stir the **** with OM posters on this board, your usual nuts like Rebel Brusier, OMlawdog, OMgrad & Vanilla Ice are going to respond within 5 minutes.

So please let them enjoy their rare post intergration bowl victory without stirring the **** the day after.

Name three incidents of prominent boosters who adopted "homeless" 17 year old kids who just happen to sign athletic scholarships at the same school as the adopted father.

Name another school that fought to get a functional illiterate into a four year college.

that Ole miss has done if we keep winning.

What do I care if an alum decided to adopt a 10th grader? If we have that dedicated of alumni, then that is awesome. Personally there is no way Im actually adopting a kid just so he can play at Ole Miss, but I guess Im not that good of a fan.

Do MSU fans really care that people joke about Dontae Jones? Who cares, you played in the final four and you didn't get put on probation, so who cares?

I didnt mean the exact same situations. You are shortsighted if you think the only place anything like this has ever happened is Ole Miss. Boosters get schools in trouble all the time for doing stupid ****. And to name another school that has fought to get a functional illiterate person into school, look no further than MSU. Dontae Walker anyone?

but what have we done for him? He rides a moped on campus, and I know his family doesnt live well, so what exactly did we do for him besides help him get into school? If he wanted to go to the NFL he could go this year and I bet he would get drafted late just on potential alone. Im not saying the previous coaching staff didnt tell him whatever the hell Powe wanted to hear to try to get him to come here, but I know he has worked pretty damn hard to get to school.

or when Tommy Kelley and Demitric Wright listed their addresses as the hotel owned by Larry Templeton's brother while they were in junior college. Or probably the same **** I would say when your starting defensive tackle was about to sign his letter of intent from jail. Or probably the same **** I would say when your school's most vocal spokesman had a website dedicated to himself and his ability to ****-talk. Or perhaps the same thing I said when your former all-American tailback when to jail for 15 years for distribution of crack cocaine.

What the hell is your post supposed to mean. All of us went to college (I assume) and are all educated. You know as well as I do that NCAA athletes are not held to the same standards as all others who go to school for an education. They are pampered and catered to. It is the same everywhere. I am not sure about the point of your post, but if you think MSU hasn't had dirty **** happen in the past, then you are crazy. All schools do that. With regard to Powe, the kid has dyslexia and got pushed through school and passed when he shouldn't have been just because he can play football. Then when he hit highschool, it was too late. His future is in the NFL, not as a scholar. I am happy for the kid that he gets a shot to do it but sad for him that he was the example that the NCAA used while it's okay for a bunch of retards to get in to school at our or any other institution. Is it an embarassment to Ole Miss? In a way, yes....with respect to the university as an academic institution....but no more so than Dontae Walker.....that dude was dumb as dirt. And with regard to Oher, come on man. The kid was practically homeless. He had no dad, and his mother was on crack, and he slept on an inflatable matress that wouldn't hold air. If Sean Touhey is a good enough talent evaluator to see a gigantic black kid walking down the street in shorts in the snow and adopt that kid based on his potential to play football when he has never played a down of it in his life, then Ole Miss better hire him as their permanent talent scout. What an asinine thing to say. Now, I know how it looks from the outside, but if you were educated on the situation at all, then you wouldn't even have said that.

Why don't you just worry about your own team rather than being an *** about ours.

We would hear nothing but MSU Cheat$$$. I wonder how many drug arrests, DUI's, rapes, thefts, etc have been covered up by corrupt ole miss judges and lawyers?? I really don't think it's a stretch to consider that it has been done, considering dickie, bobby, timmy, et al. and their actions.

Seriously, if Barker did that, and the kid he adopted wasn't playing high school football at the time he adopted him, then good for him for taking the kid off the streets. I played high school ball with a handful of guys that were 6-5, 300+ pounds, and none of them played D-1 ball. Just because you see a big kid doesn't mean he's talented, so I don't see how the Tuohy's could've known they were adopting a kid who had NFL talent, especially since they hadn't seen him play football yet.

To the second question, more power to MSU for trying to get a kid in school. If you can get by the NCAA, you deserve to play. If you believe all of MSU's players have better reading skills than Powe, you haven't been around college football very much.

Also, I'm pretty sure you have quite a few players with dreads and tattoos. That's the new style for a lot of players. I don't see how that makes our players any different than anyone else. In fact, they've been pretty good about staying out of trouble, especially under this staff.

Rare?

If you call 13 wins (13-6 record) rare, what word accurately describes Mississippi State's post-integration bowl record?

Come on man, you cant really be this shortsighted can you? Your hatred of another institution has made you just dream up stuff. Im sure both schools do cheat in some form or another, there in no doubt in my mind that there is some form of cheating going on in just about every athletic department in the country, but to come on here and act like Ole Miss does it any more than MSU, or vice versa, is just dumb. Situations happen every year at school that an outside observer see as wrong, and that not going to change anytime soon.

Judge we would have not know about the bribery scandal. It's not that far fetched to think it could have happened in the past. Tell me this, did'nt RK plead on dickie's behalf in front of the judge???

Just give me one example of a booster adopting a 17 year old. Can you not name one? You say "stuff like that happens all the time" and "the only reason anybody knows about it is because of the book", but give me one example of anything similar ever happening.
And to name another school that has fought to get a functional illiterate person into school, look no further than MSU. Dontae Walker anyone?
What proof do you have that Dontae Walker was illiterate? Even Powe's mom said he couldn't read. Besides, Dontae couldn't be any dumber than Professor Eddie Skrong.

Im not the one accusing, you are. I said similar sittuations, not the exact same one. Also like I said this one was public because of the book, who is to say it hasnt happened the exact same way but just wasnt publicized? I dont know of other kids being adopted, but I really doubt this is the first time something similar has happened. Dontae proved how stupid he was, I really dont have to.

Give a situation that is remotely similar to what went with Oher. Just one. You can't because it is utter horseshit.

The fact that Oher signed with Mississippi and Tuohy adopted him was well known before the book came out.

The kid was practically homeless. He had no dad, and his mother was on crack, and he slept on an inflatable matress that wouldn't hold air. If Sean Touhey is a good enough talent evaluator to see a gigantic black kid walking down the street in shorts in the snow and adopt that kid based on his potential to play football when he has never played a down of it in his life
Go sell that story to Disney, because nobody in their right mind would believe it.

and Devine was an extreme longshot to qualify. Devine did eventually qualify and ended up at West Virginia. He didn't go to FSU like Deion, but Deion did adopt him, and Deion knew he was one of the top recruits in the country when he took him in.

At least in Tuohy's case, he didn't know Oher would be one of the top recruits in the country. Oher wasn't even playing football when the Tuohy's took him in, and on top of that Oher really wanted to play basketball, not football.

Also, XenaReb and her family adopted Michael Antonescau. He was a big boy, around 6-5, 300+ pounds, and he was already playing football, but he ended up going to Memphis, not their alma mater. And he's not necessarily going to have an NFL future.

Point being, it happens.

How am I suppose to know everything that happens at every other athletic department? And to say it was well known is horse ****. There might have been a few people on some message boards that talked about it, but I can gaurantee it wasnt well known. If not for the book it wouldnt even be talked about that much now, and that whole interview probably wouldnt have even happened at the Cotton Bowl. You are not going to convince me that Ole Miss is the only evil institution to ever have something like this happen at it, nor am I going to convince you away from what you believe. Its just dumb to argue something like this and shows your sour grapes for sure. Get over it. Thats the best advice I can give you.

The ironic thing about that is we've won the same amount of bowl games in that time span as MSU have participated in all-time.

MSU has a 7-6 bowl record, we've now been to 32 bowls.

So please let them enjoy their rare post intergration bowl victory without stirring the **** the day after.
Please note:

1971 Gator Bowl - pre integration

1983 through 2009 Cotton Bowl: 12 games, winning 9, losing 3.

I do believe that 12 Bowl Games exceeds the number of bowls MSU has been invited to since the American Revolution.

Wreckless post or outright lie?

edit: sorry colonel, didn't see you on the next page when I did this.

The truth of the matter is the question the original poster asked was a good one and all the bs added on this post has done nothing to change my mind that had this been an Alabama alumnus such as Barker or an MSU alumnus, the Rebel police would have been all over this and the press would have haunted MSU or Bama. Even the Touhey's version now differs from what was in the book. As far as Powe, no use in visiting it further, it was common knowledge that he was illeterate but Coach O promised numerous players he could get them in and he did in almost all the cases, ala McCluster, Hardy, Lockett,Rory Johnson, Trahan, Oher,Bolden, Schaeffer,Jerry, and several others. If it wasn't for BYU and the computers, Ole Miss would have been playing a lot less talent. That is not the issue that was addressed and if Ole Miss is the so-called bastion of academia they say they are, these guys are now all Dean's list students. Has to make even the most skeptical fans raise an eyebrow and if the Touhey's are such wonderful people, why didn't they adopt Oher's other brothers and sisters? Spin it any way you want to but if it looks like a rat, runs like a rat, and smells like a rat, it is a rat, plain and simple.
