Considering how many schools that will be looking and their number one guy to replace Kiffin is being charmed by the Grasshopper you never know.

He left us, we didn’t leave him.
Well, he was a young coach, hopefully on his way up. Florida showed him he wasn't going any higher than them. Maybe he'd be right at home at State now, since he's several years older and has had his wings clipped a little. I'd take him back, especially seeing what we've had since he left.

He found out that green grass still gotta be mowed. He’d be more humble next time around is my guess, if we ever brought him back. We should at least inquire.

Dude is 10-2. He's a good coach. We should be getting him to come back if he wants to come to the state of Mississippi
Worth noting he took over a good team. UNLV had won 11 and 9 games previous two years and played in their conference championship both seasons. I watched a few of their conference games this year, his team is noticeably just flat out more athletic than their opponents. It feels like watching a good sec team vs sunbelt.

He’s done a decent job there in year one. But losing to Boise and New Mexico reminds me of him never being able to beat the better sec teams (never better than 4-4 except 2014)

And we would kill for that level of “mediocrity” right now

Ole Miss currently has a better coach and coaching staff than State. What are the chances of that remaining true within a month after Lane leaves?

I would be shocked if Carter hires someone less qualified and more incompetent than Libby, Cuntzler, and crew. Libby is by far the dumbest head coach in the SEC and that includes the interims (Petrino, Gonzo, etc).

Mullen to Ole Miss was mentioned as a possibility in The Athletic after the firings at LSU & Florida.
