...as much as we've given them crap for a ****** schedule:

1) Play two D-1AA teams.
2) Play two terrible out of conference D-1A teams.
3) Lose to an elite team at home, and two very average teams on the road.
4) Beat two teams with a 3-4 conference record at home, an extremely overrated top 10 team, and a sub .500 in-state rival, and....
5) New Year's Day BOWL GAME!

Actually the formula has been around, minus the new playing two D1AA teams. Take GT and Houston off our schedule and add two crappy D1A teams and we are probably bowling. I know LT has already been fired so we can't do that, but we should all get to punch him in his face for putting this schedule together.

at least three OOC gimmes, it's this one. An average team three games under after 11 games, or bowl eligible after 11 games? Easy.

This isn't March Madness. Nobody cares about strength of schedule unless we have a computer poll to impress for a spot in the BCS Champ game. 6 wins and $$ from the fan base in the bowl city is all that matters for anything else.

The only way Mississippi's schedule could have ever hurt them would have been if they finished 6-6.

All that matters is they won 4 OOC games this year. If we'd played a smart schedule like they did, we'd be going bowling too. Look at our schedule for 2010-2016. It's almost certain that we won't have any decent OOC wins those years either (unless a win over a team like Houston or Southern Miss turns out to be decent).

You'd think in 20 years they'd have one non-con game to hang their hat on.

And yes, I would love to have their schedule. At least until we get some winning seasons strung together.

then winning at Houston next year would be a pretty good OOC win. As long as he's there they will be top notch on offense.
