A friend of mine, who is loyal to a fault to MSU, but closely associated
with Ole Miss tells me that there is a bomb about to drop in the lap of
the TSUN. The boys in Birmingham are investigating them. It seems
ineligible signees over the last two years have been housed in Jackson
and all their housing, transportation, tuition and book fees were paid
by David Saunders, former TSUN Athletic Department Official. This was
"The Plan." Over the past two years, unqualified recruits from
Virginia, Florida, and Georgia signed by TSUN were transported to the
Ed Center and all their fees paid by Ole Miss while they were getting
qualified. While this has been the subject of rumor in the past, it
seems the Boys in Birmingham now have photographic evidence of money
passing from Saunders to the driver of the players. Further, they were
also transported to Jackson State for illegal workouts.

Somebody write something on Bleacher Report pronto.

Roy McLain just wet himself.

Bulldog Backer is the most gullible SOB alive. You could tell him that Robert Khayat is the leader of al-Qaeda, and he would probably believe it.

I'd certainly not be shocked if this has been happening but I'd crap myself if they ever ever got in trouble. That info is as useless as accusing a team of paying a recruit.

Slive can't afford to sweep things under the rug any longer. See the second article above under the C-L Blog. Nothing may come of it but I think there is something to this OM thing because of the broad brush of paying for players thing is bigger than just Auburn.

that no SEC football program is going to get in any real trouble while Slive is around. Do whatever you want.

Been hearing that **** for the last 15 years. Secret PLOI's, deer camps, drivers, etc, etc etc etc etc. Backer is the boy who cried wolf about 10000 too many times.

masoli this year has not made the rebels any friends lately. We've heard about "plans" for a few years, but they might have stepped across the line one too many times. But, I'll believe it when I see it.

just seems like I've heard this song before. He's always got some wacky conspiracy theory about OM paying folks. Maybe the blind squirrel theory will come into play for him this time.

..trotting out some scary "they're about to get hammered" scenario in conjunction with the Univeristy of Mississippi football program.

Thanks, BB, for once again fulfilling your role as #1 purveyor of unsubstantiated crap in regards to that annual, mythical PLOI aimed @ Oxford.

Since this should mark your 10th year anniversary of posting lies about OM on MSU messageboards, it's only fitting people celebrating their 10th year anniversary, via tradition, receive a giftmade up of tin or aluminum.

You can use that tin or aluminum to create youself a "deflection cap" so all those wild, incessant conspiracy theories can't penatrate your cerebral cortex.

Saunders is a pretty decent guy. His son walked on at qb at State but followed dad to OM last year. Saunders was the "eligibility specialist" at OM for recruiting. Before that he ran a "non-profit" thing in Jackson after O did not retain him where he helped recruits do everything possible to get them eligible. See Jerrel Powe!!! But during that time he also helped some players get in at State as well.

That being said, I think something is coming down because he and Nutt are very tight and he wanted to get back to coaching on the field. I think he would have waited for something to open up with Nutt but felt it best to get away from all the crap that is supposedly about to hit the fan. So he went with Hud to ULL.

Saunders has worked for three coaches - Cutcliffe, Orgeron and Nutt. He was good at getting kids qualified but the NCAA has tightened up some of the restrictions as far as how many classes you can take after your senior year, etc. He was off the field with Cutcliffe and Nutt but on the field with Orgeron until he was fired.

Some of you may not believe this but he laid out the plan to get Anthony Dixon eligible. Lots of people give him credit getting him on the qualification track. However, State seemed to build a lead with Dixon late in his senior year and Ole Miss moved in on Eason hard at the same time. Kind of ironic that he came back to beat us.

Saunders has had a running feud with Pete Boone for years. He views Saunders as the reason we received the APR scholarship restrictions by bringing in guys who have no business being in college. Pete Boone would only pay Saunders $12 an hour because he viewed him as a "janitor, someone that does nothing but clean up sh*t." He has said "I'm going to pay him like one". Janitors don't make $12 an hour but you get the point.

Saunders had finally had enough when Hud called. Nutt is not happy that Boone ran him off again.

You're right, I don't believe you. Nobody should. All the Dixon kids made good grades in high school.

I'll give credit where credit is due however, very well concocted story. Saunders, I am told, is as straight an arrow as you'll ever find. Just makes the story sound like a well-time 'release' after a week of disappointing recruiting news.
