I think Marcello does a fine job. I have yet to see a beat writer that doesnt get raked over the coals here.

and I thought Sekou Smith was the best beat writer we ever had. Only beat writer I ever detested was Rusty Hampton. Marcello is very amatuerish in my opinion. You don't have to agree. What's up with all the "groupthink" mentality on this board lately, anyway?

Veazey also had the benefit or burden of twitter and a much bigger population on message board to please or contend with.

The guy was just a hard worker and a smart ***, to things I like in most people. Marcello is very unimpressive, in my opinion. I don't feel like we learn a damn thing form him that we would not learn from anyone else covering state. Veazey was in there digging and asking the questions. I know some on here thought that he was reporting on some things because he was an Ole Miss homer but I think he blew that idea out of the water by pissing off many of the Rebels.

I know he used to be the Sports Editor of the Reflector, but would he leave Jackson since he's married to Crisp?<div>
</div><div>And since I don't care about JSU's athletics, I don't read anything of his other than his tweets, but would anyone be in favor of him coming to Starkville in the future to cover MSU for the CL?</div>
