I was at the Hall of Fame Bowl in Tampa many years ago when a drunk fell over the second story rail at a Holiday Inn. When his shirtless body hit the concrete it made a terrible sound and we thought the guy must be dead. When we ran over too him his head had landed in a bush, he sat up and said wow, he then staggered to his feet and walked away apparently unharmed.

Already Red Flags on him and this is not going to help his draft status with NFL Teams...

Luckily for him, he was projected as a top 5 pick in the draft. The shocking thing to me though is how somebody can fall ~40 feet, and get up with cuts and nothing else.

The article says that he broke a window, walked about 15 feet, climbed a wall and then fell about 15 feet.

Glad that he seems to be mostly OK.

Please don't tell me this dude was high.

Yeah, sounds like another dummy that has the world at his feet and wants to throw it all away. Sounds like he was pretty determined also, broke out the glass and then climbed a wall, but fortunately sounds like it was only 15 feet instead of 40 feet.

He is very athletic for someone weighing over 300# but I think all that would have done for him from 40 feet is make a bigger splatter.

Choosing pot over millions of dollars. Some guys just don't get it or just don't care.
It is not just athletes that have this problem in our society, but in general... I personally have experienced in my family with someone who has an addiction and it is a terrible thing to see someone waste their lives... Don't get me wrong it is just not drugs there is also alcohol as well and I don't ,and I never will ,understand people who go down that path of life and it makes no difference if you have money or you don't have money to be someone who even starts this stuff is an idiot... what the hell do they expect to get out of it I will never understand... it seems like anymore the stuff instead of being condemned that people are not glorifying it, legalizing and thinking it is the coolest thing in the hell to do and that you must either get stoned or get drunk to have a good time at doing anything..sickening

Thanks for the link, which also leads to other good stories on ESPN.

It says he did fall four stories, but in two separate falls, witness amazed that he tried to get up and walk away. Also he was charged with possession of mj.

Also Josh Forrest accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl.

But, while not football related this is what caught my eye, the last paragraph the most relevant.

"Come on, George. Loosen up. Swing, man." -- Frank Sinatra in a letter to George Michael, 1990 (h/t @JJohnFoyle)

I didn't know Frank had such great insight, and I guess he did have to work his way to the top. I sent a copy to my daughter, whose young son in grade school just scored above 99.5% on a test of his learning ability, one of three students in the 318,000 student Clark County School District to qualify for a special program with special tutoring, etc for those that qualify. She is a stay at home parent with two sons, and is wondering just how much this will change their life, probably no more two month vacations to Montana in the summer.

Not a phenom athlete prospect, but then I have no athletic heroes really, love Cobb and a few others but think the shoe salesman that gets paid a fortune for endorsing cheap shoes made with cheap labor is a disgrace, frankly, and think Americans should rethink who their heroes should be. And it also seems that most of our best academic talent go on to be lawyers, who gouge the public and have a lot of them go on to be the crooked politicians that run our country. In retrospect I wasted a good part of my life chasing a football.

Money, Money, Money, and it has started running the athletic world also, has for a while actually, just ask jurich and all the win at all cost UL fans.

But, good news, the cost of living (according to the COLA for social security) didn't go up again this year, third year out of the past four IIRC, I am sure all of you on social security are overjoyed to know that the price of food has gone up about 1.5% the last four years. Cola is based primarily on the price of fuel, so at least you can afford to drive to the grocery store, just don't try to buy anything when you get there, LOL,

And yes I am bragging, if some of you can brag about your athletes then I think this is worthy also.

Talked to an OL that plays for a college team down south and he said he's the best player he's ever played against. He said second best was #2 for UK last year. :))

No doubt from his measurements he is a freak of nature, he even looks good running the ball, and the numbers for #2 here weren't that far behind WHEN HE LEFT, a lot of hard work went into that, this guy was one of the top rated five stars coming in and our guy was a 5.6.

Of course Clowney was in the same class as this guy coming in, wonder how much this will affect his draft status.

It dropped Warren Sapp from possible number one or two pick to about 12th where the Bucs drafted him.

He already had issues with some in NFL Front Offices...Rob Rang of CBS reported this Sunday:

During the offseason, a picture of Nkemdiche with a bong circulated the Internet. Further, Nkemdiche also has been characterized as having an "off-beat" personality. One anonymous front office executive told Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Nkemdiche is "really a different kid. He may scare some people. He's strange strange."

Unfortunately, the NFL Draft is littered with stories of talented players dropping due to off-field issues. A year ago, character red flags pushed former Nebraska star defensive end Randy Gregory into the second round and LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins slipped out of the draft entirely. Each has stood out for the Dallas Cowboys this season.

And this is what they found in his room....more than likely especially since Clowney play after Spurrier pretty much tried to warn ppl will cause a NFL Draft slid:

Authorities told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that "approximately 7 rolled marijuana cigarettes" were found in the hotel room where Nkemdiche reportedly broke a window, walked outside and then fell over the wall

NFL teams do a lot of investigating of players like him. That's why some teams will pass on him.

Of course we'll hear it wasn't his pot. He's just a kid. He's made some mistakes. He's turning over a new leaf, blah, blah, blah. Most NFL teams won't care what he tells the media.

After what the Texans are going through with Clowney and the Browns with Manzeil imo he is going to slid in the draft this coming April

If he just up and decided to head out the window without any apparent reason, folks need to consider whether he had more than some weed in his system when he went on his ill-fated parkour outing. If he is a really off-beat character, he might be using something a lot more interesting than marijuana.
