If I'm Cohen, I'm going Mitchell Friday, Lindgren Saturday and woodruff Sunday. I know Lindgren has been good in the pen but it's time to put him in the rotation. I also put Armstrong in the lead off spot and Collins in the 4 spot.

I don't know what you do with this staff, but Lindgren and Woodruff both pitched tonight. Don't see them starting this weekend. The combo of Mitchell and JLin is money. Maybe start Woody on Sunday.

Woody threw just 50 pitches tonight so he should be good to start Sunday on 4 days rest. I'd throw Mitchell Friday and the Fitts/Lindgrin/Holder trio Saturday.

Any word on Preston Brown's availability for the weekend? That could be pretty important.

I think Woodruff has earned the Sunday start with his last 2 outings. I'd pitch Mitchell on Saturday though.

I like Mitchell on Saturday too. I just want to find a way to get Lindgren in the rotation.

I would pitch Mitchell on Saturday because he is most experienced under pressure, the crowd will be huge, the game will be intense, and he would give us the chance to either take the series or stave off a sweep.

Start Holder. Honestly, why not. Plan for 4 innings Sunday.
I don't think holder would do as well as a starter. I think a few innings as a middle reliever would better for holder if you don't think he should close. As far Friday night maybe go back to last year and let Fitts throw for 3 and then put someone else on the mound. Mitchell on Saturday and I put Woodruff on Sunday

Lindgren is a 3-4 inning guy. He needs to stay in relief. Woodruff appears to mentally handle relief much better.

It appears Woody is figuring things out which is critical now that it looks like

Brown may be done for the year.

Woodruff seems more likely to go 5 innings starting than Lindgren to me. Jim talked about Woodruff dialing down his fastball and replaced it with better command last night.

Having to pitch Woody and Lindgren last night kind of put us in a bind for starting pitching early in the series. I like Ross on Saturday to handle the crowd. I think we have to go with Fitts on Friday because there really isn't anyone else, and we can't start a freshman. Woodruff on Sunday.

Lingo's pitching style is best suited for coming out of the bullpen. He wants to come out and throw hard right out of the gate; if he's moved to the rotation, he won't last long because he'll either throw hard and where out his arm or he'll have command issues because he's trying to hold off. He's striking out around 40-45% of the guys that face him and he's throwing his best stuff out of the pen. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I know you didn't say it but if it ain't broke don't fix it was exactly what I was told regarding Mitchell starting. I just don't feel Fitts is all that great. So, while Lindgren is not broke our starting rotation is. If brown was healthy I'd be happy with brown, mitchell and woodruff.

Thinking back to what we were all expecting at the beginning of this season, it's amazing that we're now in a position for a midweek game to be such a must win that Cohen is burning half the weekend staff in order to secure the W. Lord help us all if we had lost last night on top of that.
