But they paid up and got top players in the transfer portal. We need better evaluations going forward and need to spend to get these top guys

It’s the LOS that’s the problem. On both sides. We signed one of the top QBs and RBs
And it took OM a few years to build that up after getting a proven DC.It’s the LOS that’s the problem. On both sides.
Please use the appropriate term. They Amber Heard the bed. They really did sнit the bed last year.

If you think a SEC school from Mississippi with 10 wins is underachieving, I can’t help you.But they paid up and got top players in the transfer portal. We need better evaluations going forward and need to spend to get these top guys
What in his post is wrong? Seriously.Another poster singing the Rebs praises.
Nothing, on the surface. Just an observation. What in his post is wrong? Seriously.
They were the only SEC school with at least 5 players drafted in the first 3 rounds that did not make the playoffs. If you think a SEC school from Mississippi with 10 wins is underachieving, I can’t help you.
Showtime don't care about the line of scrimmage. We sign linemen from UTEP not other big power 4 schools. Sometimes that's not bad if you can eval talent and develop but I didn't see much like that from the staff last year. Need to see some player developed and get more for lessIt’s the LOS that’s the problem. On both sides.
Seems like we're addressing these problems in the portal. Not like they did but we've gotten some guys that should competeIt’s the LOS that’s the problem. On both sides.
O line we pulled a starter from Virginia and not sure if starter but someone from Kentucky, a center?Showtime don't care about the line of scrimmage. The cost for a strong 2-3 deep line on both sides is too much for even the Rich and Famous of Lafayette CountyAnd it took OM a few years to build that up after getting a proven DC.
It’s not too expensive for Bama, the new guy hasn’t earned their buy in. He’s probably gone after this year and the next guy will get the money train rolling again. The cost for a strong 2-3 deep line on both sides is too much for even the Rich and Famous of Lafayette County
It's gotten even too expensive for Bama. And I thought I would never see that day.
pump the brakesWe keep building hopefully 2027 we're talking about the playoffs.
Yes, but the cost for good linemen is exponentially growing. And there's 10-15 on each side of the ball. Can't consistently buy a championship anymore. Especially with a few key injuries to your top starting linemen in season. Most teams go big on their first string and hope for the best. Other teams poach the 2nd string with promising a starting spot, star treatment and promise that their coaching staff will help make their NFL 1st round dreams come true. It’s not too expensive for Bama, the new guy hasn’t earned their buy in. We won 2 games in 2024 and got a good chance to win 3 in 2025. How can you not be pumped?pump the brakes
I’ll sign up for failure like that every year. Every year. They were the only SEC school with at least 5 players drafted in the first 3 rounds that did not make the playoffs.
Lot of quantity, not a lot of quality in our portal class. We got a few (not a lot, a few$ players that can contribute, but no difference makers.Seems like we're addressing these problems in the portal. Not like they did but we've gotten some guys that should compete
Fun for a fan yes but flushing millions down the toilet without any meaningful ROII’ll sign up for failure like that every year. Every year.
They won 10 games. That’s not exactly a terrible ROI.Fun for a fan yes but flushing millions down the toilet without any meaningful ROI
Head coaches are typically roughly compensated $1M per win. Ticket sales and merchandise sales go up. Enrollment and giving goes up a little but goes up a LOT when you win it all. It's a big loss to not make the playoffs for the school and the major donors, if they even care. It's a brand spend that is fuzzy math. They won 10 games. That’s not exactly a terrible ROI.
Considering what their draft class looks like and their spend they definitely underachievedIf you think a SEC school from Mississippi with 10 wins is underachieving, I can’t help you.
Hell of a lot more than what he had when he got hereLot of quantity, not a lot of quality in our portal class. We got a few (not a lot, a few$ players that can contribute, but no difference makers.
I'd take competing for a bowl game by 2027 at this point. It's great that we're getting kids that appear to be an improvement from what we had last year, but the overall talent of this roster is still behind every team in this league with the possible exception of Vandypump the brakes
I hate to tell folks but Vandy spent $90K on a punter. They're spenders now.I'd take competing for a bowl game by 2027 at this point. To be fair, punter is a more important position at Vandy than at most schools.I hate to tell folks but Vandy spent $90K on a punter. They're spenders now.
Yeah, Vandy’s always made me nervous. Like SMU or Duke basketball, if they ever decided to get serious about something besides baseball, they could outspend every team in this conference without batting an eyeI hate to tell folks but Vandy spent $90K on a punter. They're spenders now.
The schedule is a major factor too. Look at Indiana. Our schedule will flip after this year and if we continue to build and have stability and our nil grows/ continues to organize we should start making strides. Look for improvement on the field this year rather than record. The next two we should be back to where our baseline had been with making bowl games yearly and every fourth a playoff shot with the expansion. Again it's all how the schedule lays out. We'll have a couple years where we're looking at hopefully 6 wins and then the next two 8 to 10 hopefully. We'll see how ole miss does when they get a schedule like ours next year. It'll be interesting if they can find another dart that will stay for 3 yearsI'd take competing for a bowl game by 2027 at this point.
