You are a bit slow......

I had at least one tell me that after the Texas game.

I hate to tell them but they have a ways to go for that level.

Yeah I know, you forgot the sarcastrisks.

They have a good offense with big play capability and they have a few good young defensive players but they have a long way to go depth wise. If they keep opening up the pocket books of the lawyers and doctors they could buy some more depth quickly.

Well, according to the SPS messiah...

C34 said y'all MADE them look bad. So, I guess we did, too.

Don't y'all have a game tonight?

Yeah, because God knows if anywhere in Mississippi was the home to a Ku Klux Klan grand wizard it would be the state's most liberal and progressive town.

Okay. You guys can deflect the question and we can get into a debate on whether or not the residents of Oxford harbor more or less racism than anywhere else in Mississippi, but I honestly want to know, who are these idiots you guys talk to who say we're going to win the National Championship or claimed that losing by 35 to Texas was some kind of great accomplishment? Who are the people saying this?

As far as the Crunchy Mike incident goes; it was extraordinarily embarrassing for Ole Miss. I'm proud it was handled the way it was by our University and the young man was dismissed from Ole Miss. I'll save you guys the embarrassment of posting a link to your racist Jackson State prediction thread from earlier this season, mostly because I'm going to get a drink and don't want to take the time to look it up.

Seriously, who are these fans you guys claim to talk to? I don't know anyone who's said anything like this, and I live in Oxford.

Any number of your core fanbase, the people who never gaduated from high school. Actually here in Bamasissippi y'all have lost ground in the trailer parks. You better hang on to Col Reb and the Stars and Bars, It's pretty much all you have left.

It's your core fan base dude. The BAMASIPPI crowd. They like what you stand for when it comes to race, but they like winners better. Y'all haven't filled the bill for them since at least 1962.

Our core fan base? I don't think of those folks as our core fan base. Those are the fans most schools refer to as "side walk alumni" or "walk on alumni", and we have very few of them. They are the ones that we try to distance ourselves from because they are the ones who harbor the racism and old south symbolism of our past. We have a reputation as elitist snobs, that doesn't really play well with the "cap and t-shirt" crowd. The fact that these are the only Ole Miss fans that you know, and the ones that you base your opinions of Ole Miss on, speaks volumes.

I consider our core fan base the folks who come to Oxford 10-12 weekends per year; alumni of the university; fans who attend multiple games in every sport; residents of Oxford who came to Ole Miss as students and either never left, or came back at the first opportunity. I'm sure that we have fans who fit that bill and are racists, but to think that by and large our fan base consists of uneducated "Bamissippi" trailer park residents, the folks that you admittedly know and associate with, is very ignorant on your behalf. You should get out more. If you need any travel suggestions, NAFOOM's got you covered.

I don't know any fans walking around beating their chests and claiming that we are a few plays away from winning the west and contending for a national championship. Most of the folks I know are cautiously optimistic and pleased with the progress of our new coaching staff. We are hoping to win 6 and get to a bowl game. We've adjusted our expectations from the beginning of the season, when most of us predicted 3-4 wins. We'll look for improvement next year, what that entails remains to be seen.
