OM phrase du jour: "They'll (MSU) be back to reality after LSU"

One guy makes a pretty decent comment (and he may be completely correct)... but from then on countless OM idiots repeat the said comment in conversation as often as possible as if it was there own comment.

At least I some reprieve from the timeless "inferiority complex" comments that spew out when they have nothing else to say.

and they are hoping like hell it's true- because if it isn't, they know it could quickly get back to the Jackie days where he had gone 7-4 against them until the wheels fell off and he lost the last two amid our program crash....

They really don't want to go back to being the #2 team in the state because that really bruised some egos and self-esteem...and they already see it being possible after one season...many Rebels are anticipating what will happen with our season just as much as they are with their own

Ole Miss will be back to reality the first time Masoli gets sacked because Bradley Sowell got beat.

If we lose to Auburn, we'll be back to reality. That game will make or break our season.

I fully expect to lose to LSU every single 17ing year and especially in Baton Rouge. I feel like we have a better shot at Bama and at Florida than down there.

that Les Miles is going to make LSU suddenly suck and they may barely win 6 games- but one of those wins will be over us. But by the time LSU plays Mississippi, they will have some losses and be spiraling downward, and Mississippi will beat them.

I want these same posters to come back around after we beat Auburn, but I'm betting the only one we'll be able to find is Bruiser as usual

I think you've got a really good chance to beat LSU.

As I've said, I was not impressed with them last year. If you were the best 5-7 team in the country, they were the worst 9-3 team. We'll see how it plays out, but I think they are going to be very beatable this year.

If I'm wrong, I'll pretend I never said that, so I can say I was right, but that's just my gut feel

yeah, we may win, but we could easily get 40+ hung on us. you all DO realize that this will be Manny's first SEC game, right? Going against one of the best offensive minds in the game (Malzahn), right? With tons of offensive weapons and a great QB, right?

Just saying, of those first 3 SEC games, I think it's the least likely win of the bunch. LSU has a joke of a coaching staff, and we get a mediocre (by Georgia standards) GA team at home. I like us better in both of those.

you guys can forget going to a bowl. Yes they're talented on offense but the "loads of weapons" comment I think is a little too much. Yes this is the first game Manny will be DC in an SEC game but it isn't the first time he's played an SEC offense.

MTSU's SEC opponents in recent years with Manny as their DC:

2009: MSU
2008: MSU, Kentucky
2007: LSU
2006: South Carolina

The difference is this year he'll actually have athletes that can compete against SEC offenses. If he can't hold back Auburn's offense (to at least under 40) I wouldn't expect much better against the likes of LSU or Georgia.

and that i like our chances less against Malzahn and Cam than I do Miles/Crowten and Jefferson or Bobo and Murray.

And let's don't forget they scored 49 on us last year. I just think a lot of people are putting too much stock in this Auburn game. If we lose that game, it's not the end of the world. Auburn has a good team; better than LSU and Georgia IMO.</p>
