Who will most likely improve a little with each game this year and take the Bull Dogs out with no problems in the Egg bowl. They way things are going, they will have a 7 w season and then a bowl game, maybe a better bowl than Memphis or Shreveport. They are not in the running for the west, but I'd give them at least one upset and I'm not talking about VP-Vandy or Pig-U.

Man I wish I was talking about MSU, but the term losers seems like the best adjective we deserve this year. I wish I hadn't typed that last sentence in, but having done it, I'll leave it.

Our home schedule looks very doable. We still have Vandy, SC, MSU, ULM, and Auburn at home. We could potentially win all of those games. We won't win them all, but at worst I think we'll go 3-2 in those games. The road schedule sucks with Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas away. I still don't know enough about our team to feel confident predicting anything, but whatever we do, we're going to have to take advantage of our home games. Wins on the road will be hard to find. The easiest road game we have just so happens to be our trip to Fayetteville, which is the game Arkansas has circled on their schedule, so none of them will be easy.

But you could very well win the rest of the home games. Your only road win will come at Arkansas, but I'm not carving that one in stone yet. I see 6-6 and a trip to Shreveport/Memphis/Birmingham for you.

Vandy will bring a solid defense- probably the better of any OM has seen. Vandy did score 24 on SC, but with only 225 total yds. - so they took advantage of turnovers. I think it could be a similar game this weekend.

Nutty always has problems with Vandy. This probably won't be any different. Go back and look at nutt's close calls while at Arkansas.

It's subject to change, but at this point both OM & Wake Forest have better defenses than Vandy.

Vandy is giving up 260 yards/game through the air.

It means that your D is not quite as strong as a lot of people are thinking. Auburn was able to move the football. They just self-destructed with unforced fumbles and significant penalties on a handful of occasions.

is that a defense can give up yards, but still hold a team to a few points- the bend but don't break thing. Maybe ya'll will whip their *** 50 - 0, I just think they are pretty good after seeing them beat SC.

I agree about the whole bend but don't break thing, and I'm not predicting a rout Saturday. In fact, I think it'll be a big challenge. However, I do think we're the better team, and I believe that as long as we don't lose the turnover battle, we'll win.

Vandy probably isn't going to turn it over much, if at all. If we take care of the ball, we're better than they are. The best offense they've faced so far is Rice's offense, and they're still giving up more yards than any team in the league. I'm just not all that impressed with their D. It's a solid D, but I still think we'll score on them, around 24 points at least. The question is, will their offense be able to keep up and move the football?

Edited to add: That vaunted Rice offense that managed to top 400 yards against Vandy, put up about the same against a weak Memphis defense. I just don't think Vandy is all that good. It's a good early season story, but as long as we show up and play as good as we can, we should win the game. If we play sloppy and turn it over, they can beat us.
