That’s pretty cool. Seeing a good mental health professional is a great thing. Good on Omar.

Dedrick Mills had a nice interview 2 years ago about how (probably the same) school psychologist helped him completely turn his life around.
Those are great triumphs and some of the side stories that represent the Husker “family.”

NIL & transfer portal literally saved this kid’s life

many here would’ve preferred his story didn’t end up like this. sad.

Videos like this highlight my own shortcomings. Admittedly I thought Omar was just another immature kid, when in fact that couldn't be further from the truth.

Outside of Omar's case, too many people don't get the mental health care they need, while others will exploit it. While it may never be as clear as an X-Ray, I hope awareness continues to get pushed so eventually the mainstream such as myself can better understand it and identify it.

May not be a popular opinion, but I'm not sure football is a great choice for someone with mental health issues, considering the physical damage to an already susceptible brain.

I don't think you assessment holds much water here. Football is getting him the help he needs. Without football God only knows where he would have wound up. Now he can get a degree, hopefully land a job with good insurance, and lead a long and productive life. I think it is highly unlikely that football trauma will worsen his situation.
