Because they haven't actually been to the CWS since the Nixon administration...
For everyone in their fanbase under 45, they've never actually seen UM make it very much farther than they are right now- so, in a way, what you're seeing is how UM celebrates their pinnacle of college baseball success.
It's going to be funny watching them celebrate actually getting to Omaha when they do eventually get there in the (hopefully distant) future. I fully expect to see grown men dancing naked in the streets of Oxford.
I told the wife they were acting like they won the CWS. They are confident, but maybe too confident. Teams that put too much emotion into every game usually run out of steam.
I don't think it's gonna happen this time. The Injuns have been just waiting for a moment like this. They'll finally make it this year, and we're gonna have a front row seat to it.
I will take excitement and emotion over the lifeless teams I have seen the past few years every day.

People in this thread are being patently absurd. That was a good game, and a huge win against a team that does fantastic in close games.
