So on Sunday, I was at a department store in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and what do I see?

That's right. Ugly *** red and 17in' blue cowbells. And those were the only two colors they came in. WT17!?!?

Not only, that, but the brand name was "12th man". It's like somebody just mixed up a bunch of SEC West concepts and threw them together. I wouldn't be surprised if the black and white picture on the label is from an old Iron Bowl.

Anyways... I've gained the ability over the years to forgive most of the jackwagons out here for not knowing the difference, but this is just a bridge too far.

Red and Blue on a cowbell is blasphemous and morally reprehensible.

Note: Full disclosure, just to make sure, I looked up SMU's relationship with cowbells and though some people tried to get it started around 2006-2009, it never caught on. One of the comments was specifically "what the hell are we, Mississippi State?" Plus, since they literally cannot give away tickets to their games, I can't imagine there being any sort of demand for tertiary SMU merchandise.

My wife saw them at Kohls here in jacksonville. Apparently has nothing to do with any particular team, just opportunistic marketing.

That's what the sales girl said was happening to the ones at Flowood Bells, all bought by MSU fans for Bear fans and family. That was 6 weeks or more ago, not sure they still have them there

La Tech tried to start the cowbell thing a few years ago too. Not as a thing to use against us. They really liked the idea of them. I remember some people coming to this board and asking about where to purchase them.

The Belk in Florence, AL has those cowbells too

Apparently it's a southern department store thing. It's a pretty random thing to sell, especially in red and blue.
