On the surface, EW and North Stokes, both 4 and 6, looks like the most competitive 1st round game in the West.
But I do not think North Stokes has any chance at all against the Cardinals. I do not know what NS health looks like but EW is bigger, more numbers, faster, and full strength I believe.

And N Stokes has students enrolled that just can not get to that school. I mean, anybody that goes to that school should get an award because you just can not get there from anywhere else. I mean sunshine has to be pumped to that school and its takes 2 days for that. You guys in the Western part of NC only think you have to make an effort to get your kids to school.

By the way, even though I think EW wins big, I will be pulling for the Vikings.

East Wilkes rolls. Pulling for North Stokes but saw them earlier this year against chatham central and they were bad. Agreed with getting to North Stokes, went two years ago and there is no easy way to get to that place. I mean I had a headache by the time we got to that place. Beautiful area though.

Underestimate the drive and heart of North Stokes players and coaches at your peril. Number 2 is extremely athletic, #44 is a very good blocker and linebacker, #20 also a very good player! This will be a good game played by young men who compete every day!!! As far as geography, if you enjoy four lane roads and interstates and stop lights and traffic, then stay away!!!

I believe you are correct on all points. And I will be pulling for North Stokes.

I mean nothing we said is incorrect. He can get his skirt in a wad all he wants. Like I said I’m pulling for North Stokes but after seeing them against Chatham Central I see no way they win, nothing to do with heart and desire. And I’ve driven to the school and there is no easy way there. Nothing wrong with that, and I also said it is absolutely beautiful up there.

At a bridge you will cross, just don't turn left on HWY-8, which is about 25 miles from Mount Airy on HWY-89 and about 6 miles and 2 left turns to the school. Start looking for the signs for the left turns after passing HWY-8 to Stuart, Va.
.
If you take HWY 268, that is 2 lanes all the way and will seem even further with all the winding roads all the way, and watch the signs when you get to Pilot Mtn. because 268 east does not go straight through Pilot Mtn. Your choice but I hate 2 lane driving that far. Whichever way you take, watch for curves. Safe trip for all !

The game is at EW right?
I thought so...
In that case do you turn left at that road where Bobby ran over that big yellow dog that time and the buzzards stayed on it for like three days or do you go past that mile marker where Betty Sue and her momma run off the road and had to get Chester to pull them out in middle of the night with his narrow front John Deere 40 and about got run over by transfer truck because tractor had no lights and turn right back onto the service road???

A city slicker on 1a board..imagine that! And btw...Ya turn left at ya mama's.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
WHOA...
City slicker???
You ever been in Randolph?
That is almost as bad as the time some poster called me "Young Buck"...
We still give directions by where somebody's great grandparents lived or where somebody hit that big deer and tore up their truck...
And if you turn left at momma's you going into my daddy's 200 acres. Be careful around tobacco barns. Momma keeps pea shooter ready.
City slicker???
WOW...
Oh and one more thing: what city slicker knows what a narrow front John Deere 40 is? Plowed corn with one of them cussed things when I was eight. First tractor I drove was a Farmall 140 in tobacco field at age 5. Had to stand up to mash clutch. Been priming tobacco, getting up hay, chasing cows, pigs and every farm animal you can think of entire life. Killed our own hogs, and everybody else's around, until daddy passed 8 years back. (My heart wasn't in it after that). My closest neighbor is 2 miles away, on road or through woods...

City slicker???

Sorry about the length of rant but never been called that (and watching Braves and getting ill)...

Your best bet is to take 103 from MA into VA to the end which is RT 8. Turn right, cross back into NC till you see that country store on the right just before the football field of Piney Grove, then take that right, go bout 2 miles hang a right. Ease on down the hill then BAM North stokes will be on the left. Quicker, faster, oh and less winding curves. Not as bad as y’all think it is. Might just be me since I’m from Patrick county and know all about it😂😂

Has North Stokes moved because at the end of HWY 8 a right brings you back to Mount Airy and left takes you toward Danbury but you would turn left a few miles above HWY 8. then another left with NSHS signs at both lefts. but like they said the game is at East Wilkes and this is all for nothing.

Worst thing about north stokes is if u have Verizon....absolutely no service there. I mean none. Can't check scores...a text might get out if u stand on one leg lean to the left and wrap aluminum foil around your phone. I hate goin to games there.
Verizon will work in spots where I live. Five miles up or down road you’re good. Here in this very large “city” area not so much.
Yeah I’m still on that.
Again wow.

TD I'm sure those are great directions, especially for someone who has never been to North Stokes before.
Those directions sound familiar, I followed them once. Many, many did I say many year’s ago, I refereed my first JV basketball game at N. Stokes. Long before GPS, assignment said Danbury. Got to Danbury and no NS, that is when I got those directions that TD is describing. Never had any idea NS was 7-10 miles outside of Danbury. Think I got there at tip time.

Yeah, it has a Danbury address but Lawsonville would be a more accurate description of where it is

I guess that depends on who's looking
As of 2017, latest information I could find on internet, Randolph has 793 square miles 11th largest in state.
Agriculture rankings in state::
#1 in Beef Cows
#1 in Goats
#2 in All Cattle
#2 in Milk Cows
#3 in Hay
#6 in Broilers
#8 in Layers
#6 in Egg Production
#10 in Total Farm Cash Receipts

Up until 2014 was way up there in tobacco production too but whole industry been going downhill since.

If those people want to look at those numbers maybe changes their minds.
