First off, I will say that Turner has been my favorite player over the past couple of seasons. I feel like he has been continually miss-used by Stans and that contributed to his stats fall-off last year.

That being said, you have to put yourself in Stansbury's shoes on this. It was announced on this board several months ago that Turner wasn't sure if he wanted to come back. If the board knew that, the coaching staff must have. How long should Stans have waited for Phil to make up his mind before making other plans? If Stans decided to wait on Phil, we might not have landed Moultrie...what if Phil then said he wasn't going to return? We are then at least one spot short.

Phil is a good kid but Stans is getting a bad rap in this situation. I know Phil personally and when spring sem. ended he bolted and made several comments to the effect that he wasn't coming back. I could be wrong but I think he even flirted with going to Europe to play and said as much on his FB page. IMO this all comes down to Phil making a couiple of bad decisions and now it's biting himn on the ***.

This still reflects poorly on Stansbury and his leadership skills. His inability to effectively managed and lead these young men has created yet another episode in the dramatic soap opera he calls a coaching career. He does not communicate effectively, nor does he earn the respect of his team.

If he's going to recruit immature, selfish players, then it's his responsibility to lead and control (within reason) them.

Perhaps he should have called Phil and asked him what his plans were?
Or told Phil that he had X number of days to decide.

Or maybe talked to Coach Grant, seeing as how that is who Turner told he was coming back.

and asked you what to do. That way he could spend all his time chasing kids around instead of going out and recruiting Moutrie. You guys would make great coaches.

I did reply but I happen to have a life and don't live on here all day like you do. I still haven't seen any list of SEC players you've coached or developed. Tell us now so we can pass judgement on how great you were in the high school ranks which is like comparing an apple to an orange.
