Top four look right. Feels like 5-10 could shake out a lot of different ways. I’d think A&M is due for a bounce back year but I also don’t trust Jimbo at all as a coach.

Whole lot of people are putting whole lot of faith in Joe Milton actually succeeding in his 3rd diff chance starting a season as a teams #1 QB. Not to mention ignoring the obvious backsliding in Heupel's UCF teams year over year.

If I were voting:

East
UGA
Tenn
USC
Ky
Florida
Vandy
Mizz

West
LSU
Bama
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Auburn
Texas Am
Miss St

If I had to combine.....I'd put UGA and Tennessee ahead of LSU and Bama to be honest. Brian Kelly is going to drop a game or two he should not. Bama has been so vulnerable and with QB question marks now....do I really feel solid about them?

On the bottom...I think Miss St could be worse team in SEC. That system is so unique and Leach was the guy who knew it. Changing systems with that QB....I think they could be in for an ugly season.

I was thinking the same thing about state, but until Missouri changes coaches they will always be in the running for that title. I think the Vandy coach is a good coach, I just don't think he will be able eo overcome being at Vandy.

Assuming UK can put together a half decent offense with Coen and with the defense we're anticipating, this seems low for UK. Low, but fair. Lots of ifs for us.
That's more or less my impression as well. Very curious to see the product that's put on the field this fall, especially the offense. I expect the defense to show well.

Didn't SC lose a lot of talent?

They lost a few to the portal and the draft, an AA DB, a DLand former 5* hit the portal and imo their best RB Portaled to SoCal. But the return an all SEC type receiver and a multi year starting QB. Beamer has recruited well, well enouggt that some tru frosh will play early.

Congrats on Raiola commitment Grump. Kids going to be a monster and I could see him leading UGA to another #1 class

I think UK will beat South Carolina again in Columbia. Last year was joke game when South Carolina beat Kentucky. I think people forgot about many things happening the weeks before and during our game with South Carolina. That is probably the flattest I have ever seen Kentucky in a game at home since Stoops became head coach. Because of that I think the East will be Georgia, then Kentucky or Tennessee - whoever wins that game. Tennessee has had UK's number for the last 75 years - but this might be the year that Kentucky finally starts the turnaround against the Vols. People also seem to forget that Coen had Kentucky in a position to beat UK two years ago and we got some really bad breaks - the ones that seem to always happen against Tennessee - lol! That game was 45-42 and Kentucky was 21 points behind UT before they got started. Anyway. South Carolina may be coming on - but the question is will they be able to stay ahead of Florida? If not, then they are going to be 5th best in the east. Last year was a bigger year for South Carolina than this year will be - that's my opinion. Hope I'm right!

I don't disagree with anything you said, but the team that played UK and UGA was not the same Carolina team that played UT and CU at the end of the season. They removed both of those teams from playoff contention, will that be the team they trot out this fall? If it is they will be a handful. But did they catch a UT team full of infighting and a CU down mentally because of inept QB play and were able to luck in to a couple big wins?

I don't think UF is going to be much better, as a UGA fan I really like that. But Napier is a former player of mine and seeing him fail doesn't make me happy. Their transfer QB wasn't well liked at Wisconsin, don't think he will be at UF either.

Florida is looking to suck like back on the Muschamp days of sucking. I don't see a path forward for them to beat UGA, LSU, UK, UT nor USC. They might snag 1 win in those games but they could as easily drop Vandy or Mizzou as well. I don't think Napier makes is past this year with the Florida job.

I haven't been impressed with Napier so far either Grumpy. I have watched Beamer and for some reason he seems to be more of a cheerleader than a coach - which emotionally may work with his team. I know his Dad is/was a legend coach from the state of Kentucky and honestly I have mixed emotions about him succeeding at South Carolina. His recruiting seems to be going well and that will buy him time to learn how to become a good head coach - if he is ever going to be one - lol! He may be a great guy, but his interviews rub me the wrong way.

I attended the last 3 UK/South Carolina games and he has been coach in the last two of those - I have not been impressed with his coaching in either game against Kentucky. Rattler was not very good against UK in reality last year - like I said, UK didn't have Levi for that game and the team was flat as they seemed to know their season was blown after the Ole Miss loss - at least they sure played like it. The only games we played with much fire after that was the next week when Wil returned and the Louisville game.

That is also the reason why I am very high on UK this year. I think the coaches and the returning players learned a lot about themselves last year and will handle things better if things don't go their way at times this year. The confidence that Coen brings to the team and then the addition of Leary are two huge reasons in addition to the work the UK staff seems to have done to shore up the offensive line. If Leary gets hurt - then UK could go flat again, but if not - this could be another big year for Kentucky and Stoops!

As I said above I hate it for Billy personally, but I just can't hope UF ever wins. I wish he had gone to the ACC. Muschamp is an awful head coach, but an top flight DC, he just can't be the boss.

Have you seen where ACC teams are meeting with the intention of unequal payouts because a few team believe they are carrying the conference. If that doesn't pass they are ready to dissolve the conference to end their contract. I read they need 8 votes to dissolve but only have 7, including ND whi h doesn't have a vote. The ones wanting to leave have plans to join the SEC or BIG 10 giving each conference about 20 teams. I don't have enough contract knowledge if that would work or not.

Don't forget, Gators start the 2023 season playing at Utah, on the first Thurs night. The entire country will watch them being dominated by the best team in the Pac 12.

It isn't fair, but yeah Napier doesn't get to year 3.

Yes been following that. I don't know if you have seen my post on this or not. I am not a fan of leagues over 16 teams - but maybe it makes sense to some people - the ones with the money I guess. My thoughts are that the ACC football/money makers may try to re-organize the league - if they can;t get the different money shares idea worked out.

I like the 16 league members because almost every collegiate sport, except for football, could continue to play other conference members each year and keep the leagues as being true leagues. With the 9 game football format and or at least playing every member every other year the football works as well as it has always done. But the 14 team format has been a disaster in terms of teams playing each other. A & M has never played in Lexington! We have played them once period! We rarely get to see Alabama as well. Yes, maybe they would cream us everytime - but you can't get better if you never play them - lol! Anyway, the money people will decide - but in reality - the TV money will balance itself eventually if we had 4 sixteen team conferences - those would truly all potentially be powerful conferences at some point in time. Some conferences will always dominate, especially in certain sports. Plus whether people want to acknowledge it or not, certain parts of the country put more emphasis on certain sports than others - its always been that way as far as I can remember - and I have been around for 70 plus years - lol!

I don't think ATM has played in Athens either, of course I could have forgotten it and only played them 1 time. I just hate seeing what is going on with NIL. I am not against kids getting paid, once they earn something, but now i
for many kids it's an auction.

Hopefully this season will go better than last. Last season dredged up a lot of bad
memories for me of many past seasons of UK football. Poor, lousy fundamentals.
Long snapper centering the ball over the punter's head or bouncing the ball back
to the holder on place kicks, Levis fumbling the ball away vs. OM, the terrible,
commical opening play against USC and LOSING TO VANDY. We got lucky to beat
Missouri and then that embarrassing display in the bowl game. Beating UL salvaged
the season. I just hope we aren't reverting back to the old UK. Last season sure
seemed like it.

The turnaround against UT has already occurred under Stoops, we just have yet to sustain it. But I hope we do starting this season

I don't believe UT ever led by more than 10 in that game, with 38-28 and 45-35 being the largest gaps. UT led 24-21 at the half after being down 14-7 after 1 qtr. UK scored on its first possession of the 3rd qtr to go up 28-24, then UT answered to go up 31-28 then on the next possession UT's Taylor got the Pick 6 to go up 38-28 at the end of the 3rd qtr. In the 4th UK scored to cut it to 38-35, then in the 4th qtr UT scored to go up 45-35 and UK cut it to 45-42. UK had a late chance but came up short.

Think you are correct - what I meant to say was UK gave them 21 points before we could figure out that gimmick offense.

Didn’t Ark struggle at the end of the year? Why are they rated so high?
Because KJ Jefferson is coming back and he's the highest rated QB in the conference. Having the best QB instills confidence in voters is all I can guess. Plus they have the top RB too.

Florida is in the “lather, rinse, repeat”mode.

I like to see them recruit well. Makes for a better transfer pool for us.
