Tickles me a bit sometimes when I see a new generation come in, make change to something that was not broken and watch it fail.
I remember when I was coaching travelball, most of the showcase tournaments where college coaches could take a look at prospects happened in Oct and Nov. It was great!
That is until they changed the dates due to allowing colleges a sorta fallball time themselves. That pushed a majority of showcases to August. Dumbest idea ever. No one should be playing in August. But there we were, having to do it... because the ncaa thought it would be a good idea. Ironic too is they worried about arms being overused. Maybe they should have looked in the mirror. We could have been off that month. Thanks for nothing
