Guy is a piece of ****. The way he treated cancer patients at the childrens hospital in jackson two summers ago proves just what kind of a piece of **** this guy is.

Who flys to jackson for a maurice williams charity event..... Shows up 3 hours late to a reception at river hills...and leaves after 15 minutes and refuses to sign autographs or take pictures with these kids. I witnessed this myself. Guy is pure garbage!!!

And you witnessed all of this? If that's true, then yeah, that changes my opinion of him A LITTLE. The reason I say "a little" is b/c after you've met a few pro athletes, you realize that most of them are jerks. It's a pleasant surprise when one isn't.

I remember some comments he made earlier in his career - I think he was asked who he would most like to dunk on, and his answer was George Bush, and he'd want to bring the backboard down on him. Ever hear about that? Of course not. Do you think Lebron knows a damn thing about politics? Do you think if, say, someone asked the same of a prominent white athlete, and the answer was Obama, that the media would not make it a huge divisive headline? Plus I've heard he's disrespectful to any type of wait staff, and a bad tipper, and so coddled by his possey that he has no idea what the real world is like.

All that aside, he's still the best basketball player on the planet.

Lebron was surrounded by 12 members of his entourage. They formed a protective circle around him. All 3 news channels were there trying to get an interview. Rob Jay thought he could jive talk his way into an interview with him by buddying up with the one of the members of the entourage. When Rob stepped up to try and get past them for an interview, they nearly beat his ***!!

He also had video of Lebron walking past a kid trying to get an autograph and the kids dad giving Lebron a piece of his mind. It was pretty damning video showing just how much of an *** James is. I'd be willing to bet Rob Jay is a big Thunder fan right now.

Lebron was playing great basketball for 3 quarters, and in the clutch, he disappears and won't take his shots.

Durant was playing less than stellar basketball (by his standards) for 3 quarters, and in the clutch he stepped up, took over, and made some key shots.

Durant is a clutch player; Lebron.... not so much.

they are old, not that athletic and lack the stamina to go 4 quarters against the very best teams over and over like the Heat. That's why the Celtics always seem to outplay the Heat in most of the first halves but always wilted in the second half. Even in the games they won they were usually just trying to hold onto a lead they had already built. The Celtics actually lost the Heat series by having to go 7 games with the 76ers. With the Thunder they are almost the opposite. They seem to dink around in the first half and then get serious and turn on the jets in the second half. In the 4 game streak over the Spurs they seem to leave the Spurs in the dust every 2nd half.

A couple of guys that work in my office was at hooters for lunch when James and his groupies came by to eat. The manager asked the two guys that I work for whould hey mind moving because they were in a area that can sit many people. They agreed. Once James got there in looked into the hooters and said something along the lines I don't want to eat with red necks then left. I have never liked that bastard.

and without a doubt the most talented person in the NBA currently, but his clutch playing ability compared to the other greatest players of all time is lacking and the sole reason that the comparison's to Michael Jordan have died down. It will takes years of success for him to lose the stigma that he is not a clutch player that disappears in the 4th corner of the big time games. He is probably the best athletic talent of all time to play in the NBA but far from the best basketball player of all time.

but he drove the lane with authority. Lebron vs. Durant will not decide this series. The other players will. The Thunder played a home game in front of a crowd louder than any other arena anywhere. It's not a series until someone wins on the road.

/And I had OKC -5.5 last night, so I'm not a Heat fan

It was on Mike and Mike.

Avgerage 4th Qtr Scoring for the finals

Durant (number was given for playoffs since this is his first finals): 13.6

Lebron: 3.6

Jordan: 8.1

The question was, "can Durant sustain that and will James stay that low?"

I believe that they will both move closer to Jordan's number. I dont' think James will get to 8 but he'll be closer. While I think Durant will exceed it slightly. But neither of them will ever be Jordan.</p>

as the help defender only assisting when he came into their perimeter. James saw more time 1 on 1 against Durant or Sefolosha than anything. What killed LeBron to me that game was that he resorted to shooting too many jump shots when that's not his game and he didn't even try to guard Durant on none switching or helping situations. For a player that's supposed to be the best perimeter defender in the league, that's just ridiculous.<div id="LCS_336D0C35_8A85_403a_B9D2_65C292C39087_communicationDiv"></div> <div>
</div><div>
</div><div>I still do not get how people just casually subscribe to LeBron being without question the best player in the league. I'm not saying he's not, I'm saying I don't see it being that cut and dry. I just don't see it.</div>

he fell victim to his creation. Him running his mouth about how many championships they're gonna win is when I got pissed! I'm an Eastern conference guy, always have been. Mainly a Celtics fan. I love the grittier teams like the Pistons, Knicks from the 90's. Today's society is full of people like LBJ they want something, but they don't want to bust thier *** for it. MJ is the greatest EVER because he worked his *** off to be that way. He probably wasn't the nicest guy in the room. But he believed in work ethic. He COMPLETELY changed his game! He was what LBJ is now, a "slasher", a "dunker" & a "scorer". Then he developed a post game that was only 2nded to me by Hakeems. He became a lockdown defensive player. He had DRIVE! NOTHING was given to him, he had to bust his *** for it! He was told by family to "be something else" as a kid. Because nobody believed he'd be an NBA player much less the best EVER! AAU has ruined alot of these kids like LBJ or even our own Sidney. No telling how many times as kids they are told how many MILLIONS they are gonna make, or how awesome they are! I can't stand LBJ, I hope he NEVER wins a championship! 17 that guy!

Second why do some many people get so pissy about the damn pep rally they had that season? It was a freaking pep rally, ever been to one? Get over it already. Maybe we should cancel all of ours this year. I would hate for Dan to say we were going to beat someone and go to Atlanta..damn fan base might turn on him and run him out of town.

That was the most over the top, orchestrated, look-at-me media event ever. That wasn't a pep rally for the fans. It was a 1-hour special on ESPN. And for all the hype, which they did everything they could to generate it, they've failed to live up to it. They came across as a bunch of arrogant pricks who didn't back it up when the time came. People generally aren't going to like people like that.

That one was nationally televised to not only be a pep rally Miami but to be a statement for the entire league. Honestly, I wouldn't have been mad if he just said that they were put together to win championships and left it at that. Not only did he have to say "not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5..." but he even had the audacity to say that when the 3 of them get together that it's going to be easy.<div id="LCS_336D0C35_8A85_403a_B9D2_65C292C39087_communicationDiv"></div> <div>
</div><div>Mother 17er, what? You know that this is nationally televised. You know that other teams, fans and sports writers are going to be watching this. But knowing this you're going to put the whole league on blast? And not only that, but you're going to disregard all the hard work everyone else in the league currently and those previously and say that just because you get with 2 other all stars, the rest of the league can't compete? You damn right people are still pissed by that. They deserve to be.</div>

ESPN my have broadcast it and over hyped during their "summer of Lebron". But I've lived in several pro sport cities where the same thing takes place. Hell the Jacksonville Jags have even had something similar that I'm sure had it been put on TV it woudl have been much more of a production.

My point is that people hate the guy because of this which is silly to me. Him saying they are going to win 5 or 6 championships is just playing to their fans. Would it have sounded better had he said I sure hope we can win some games this year and maybe make it to the playoffs. What's the difference in him saying that and Dan saying we are never going to lose to Ole Miss again?

If you are going to hate him, hate him for what Extreme posted about him at the hospital, not for something as silly as saying you are taking you talents to Miami and winning some championships.

But ultimately as I said in my first post in this thread...the older I get the less I want to know about these guys personal lives. I just prefer to leave all the gossip to E Online and enjoy the games.

The reason I can't stand LeBron and Wade is because of the way they whine about being persecuted by the fans and refs all the time. Rondo nailed it when he said they were exploiting the Heat not getting back on D because they were busy crying to the refs. Watch Wade sometime after he turns it over or misses a shot. He will flop like a fish and then stop and glare at the ref and not get down the court.

Also that crack last year about fans having to get up and go on with their crummy lives everyday was pretty crappy of them too.

I hope OKC sweeps them and the whole thing is dismantled in Miami.

Durant is still very young and still has a lot of years left to play and Lebron still does too. I still think in the long run Durant will out shine Lebron though. It appears he has that "it" factor that Jordan had late in games.

But I do wonder why the opinion of most other people about him bothers you so much. And seriously doubt the Jacksonville Jags haveever done anything that over the top and that over hyped.I mean, they're the Jacksonville Jags. How could they?

That as a person, he's a piece of ****. And thats because of things like Extreme posted. Not because of what I consider a pep rally...no matter how over the top. Your just assuming that I like the guy because of this.

As a player I think he'll end up being one of the top 5-10 players ever.

And don't doubt the quality of a Jags pep rally....when Jackson DeVille rolls out on a Harley those north FL fools go crazy!

it's not even close to the same scale as spectacle the Heat put on. Most people hate Lebron James for all the other reasons too. If they didn't they'd hate Wade and Bosch just as much as they hate James.</p>

story in Jackson. But I wouldn't doubt it happened either. The guy has been coddled (as somebody said earlier). Look how long it took Jordan to get his first 6 figures. Or hell, i'm not a fan of Kobe's either but Kobe came into the leauge and was on the bench for the early part of his career subbing in Van Exel. Look at the work he's had to put in. I HATE the Lakers but right now, Kobe is one of the last "old school", "grinding out" kind of players left. I love the drive, I love the intensity & those guys have RINGS!

were the ones hyping the event? They don't work in the marketing department.

The event was hyped because of how great Lebron James is and companies (like the Heat and ESPN) decided they wanted to make some money off of the signing of him.

I don't get why people hate him because of that pep rally either. It makes no sense.

And to your earlier question. I understand why people hate the guy. I just don't understand why the majority always blame it on the stupid "decision" and pep rally or whateverthey want to call it.... I don't like him, but I enjoy watching him play.

Good points. People forget that about Kobe. He did not come in as an instant superstar. He worked his *** off to get where he is. I am an admitted Laker homer but Kobe really is a different breed from most of today's superstars.
