Look, this is not meant to turn into "everybody bash Bonedaddy" thread, but he has been most vocal about his intentions Saturday, so I guess this is basically addressed to him.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that the only way we will keep our bells is follow the rules as best we can. Dr. Keenum was told by the other presidents that our bells were "silly" and we "should just go ahead and get rid of them." The words "metal detectors" have already been used by the other SEC presidents in regards to the bells. They have also said "we will fine you until your own fans agree that you can't afford it." They don't care that it doesn't give us an advantage (at least according to decibel data), they just wanted them gone. This was the only chance.
At first, I didn't believe this really was all we could do. I thought maybe we'd given ground too quickly. That is not the case. This is it.
When I stop and really think about this, I want some cowbell over no cowbell. I hope everyone else will come to the same conclusion.
