Thanks and I agree with you. I question the stability of anyone who takes anything that I've said here, personally. Well, actually, I think last year I said some pretty mean things about the head coach at HC, but that's it. So, it's on to GW's next game against, ironically, HC. More on this game later this week.

GW fans - how are the injured players? While not at the game I was told they were scary looking injuries - hate to see that.
I'd be curious to know how they came up with such an assessment. How I "feel" is irrelevant, until I know their thinking.
Regardless of how they came up with it, I know you are not clueless as to what winning by "5 TD's" mean. No matter how you try to slice it, it's disrespectful. That is no different than running up the score. Winning by 3 TD's is a blowout so to say you will beat anyone by 5 TD's is basically saying the team your are playing isn't worth anything.
I completely understand that wasn't your intent but the reality is it's disrespectful.
We will know more after MRIs today but one did look like it was season ending, which really sucks. We are collectively hoping he can rehab by baseball season. It would be a terrible way to end a high school career.
The other was ugly but looks like it will be a few weeks. Both outstanding leaders and great kids.
Team will rally around next man up and try to withstand the pressure HC will bring, especially for their Homecoming. HC looks like they have fully committed to the run this year, which last year gouged GW for 300+ yards. The oline doesn't look as impressive as last year's on film, but sometimes you have to be on the field to get a real read.
We're just glad to be done with the Allen brothers. Ten years of those guys was enough. (maybe it was only 8 but sure seemed like 10)

Help me establish proper boundaries. Would it have been okay to say something like this: "In 4 of the last 5 seasons GW has beat LT by an average of 5 TD's and based on what I've seen so far, I see no reason to think this season will be any different". If the standard of conduct here is to avoid that kind of talk, I'll take note and stop talking about scores and margins of victory.
In my opinion stated something like GW should have no problem getting the win is establishing confidence in the teams ability. Keep in mind if you actually won by 5 Td's it wouldn't be as bad. The question is how did you feel they would win big while actually losing? The past is the past so everything starts over this year.

How did I feel? LOL-- it's a HS football game, so I felt my hot dog and chips churning in my stomach, and that's about it. I have more feelings about other aspects of the program than the result of that game. I suppose I "feel" like the program had better get ready for HC, and fix some of their offensive issues. Okay since you want to play innocent. GW has only scored 5 Td's twice this year and both were against 1-4 teams. What data did you use to say GW would beat an undefeated team by 5 Td's let alone score 5 Td's based on THIS years information? In the other two games and now this one, GW hasn't scored more than 2 TD's if a team has more that one win. Originally I thought Jwar was a little out of line but now looking at the whole picture and your failed attempt to claim innocent, I am looking at more of an extremely arrogant post more than anything else. I said "feel" because there were NO FACTS that led you to think they would win by 5 td's let alone score 5 td's against a decent team.
In the end I respect GW and all that they have accomplished however this is pointless. Good luck next week. My advice would be respect every opponent and hope for the best.

I have 6 years of notes on my analysis of GW and the teams they play. I tell you that so you'll know that my analysis is reasonably good and is at least directionally correct. I look at team/opponent score differentials, and factor in one team off differentials, too ( i.e., a team you beat loses to another team that a team my team beat). In addition, I look at/for trends in improvement or the oppisite, which ever applies. I think of it as a subjectively objective method, which works pretty well, except that it doesn't predict upsets.
I won't get into the details of last weekends upset, and will just say that GW has an opportunity to turn thing back around this weekend. But like I also have said, they've got themselves into a mess, and we'll see if they can pull it together.
Now, I'm not playing innocent. I have predicted games and scores since last year. When I'm right, I'm right. And when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I don't get upset when people predict that GW will lose, especially if they can offer some analysis with their prediction. That's the great thing about this site...the exchange of football thinking and analysis. I've admitted I blew this prediction, and am not ducking it in any way. I was wrong in my prediction, but not wrong to make a prediction.
I'd like to move on before getting pissed off at those who offer no analysis or football thinking, but emote about how awful it that someone predicts that YOUR favorite team may get beat. Maybe my analysis sucks, and taking a stand comes at the risk of being wrong. But you should know that you will likely be offended by my future posts, because I see nothing wrong with talking football on a football site.
Maybe there was a little aggressive prediction in the past week, but I would have put the GW posters far down on the obnoxious list over the past many years overall.

I wrote those reviews and picked many a game in the DVC the Upstate8 and the ESCC without players on any of the teams that were my kids. I never once critiqued a player in a negative way, a coaching staff I did and edgy asked me to remove it and I did. Now don't get all high and mighty that you used six years of data without providing it.
